Its a software problem, not hardware. However i do not question N8's graphical power. But tell that to those who find N8 (and E7) to be laggy, no graphics chip can compensate for the weak processor.
I repeat, N900 is the only decent powered Nokia, i would like to see the same power in other models.

Matt, 15 Nov 2010Sad to see that: -The E7 only adds a keyboard in respec... moreThis is a E series phone means business phones not multimedia or a gaming phone. Businessman like me do not care about the best screen or the fastest processor or the most RAM. All we want is a good phone with up to date features. Most important is to have an average clear screen, just a reasonbly fast processor and enough RAM with very good battery life to get through the day without any hiccups. A phone we can rely on. The most most most important thing for us businessman is to be successful and make money so we can give our family a good life.

I prefer not to have a card slot as writing and deleting data on card slots tend to corrupt it in a matter of time. Moreover all this writing and deleting data will also consume battery. I'm using the E72 and the N86. For eg when I same my sms on the phone memory the application will open faster and more stable but when I select sms to be saved on the memory card I notice the sms application will tend to lag slightly.

marckus, 18 Nov 2010No card slot?? I mean, anyone could tell me what's behind t... moreThey have a reason behind no card slot. You also have a choice whether to buy this phone or not. Anyway the iPhone has no card slot and everyone saying its the best. When the manufacturer gives you a card slot there will be something else that people want. How can they satisfy everyone, Thats why Nokia came up with lots of different phone models to cater to individuals needs. I'm using a E72 and love the battery life if I wanted a good camera I'd go for the N8 which would be my second phone. If they put everything in a phone I'm sure the you would get only 3-4 hours battery. Phones evolves fast but not battery yet.

Can anyone tell why the hell are idiots coming to the E7 site to trash the phone. The thing is that this phone is not even out in the market and everyone thinks that they are God by saying that the phone is bad. Stop condemning coz every phone has it good or bad points. No phones are perfect. Android,Win7 and iPhone has its bad points as well. Whatever it is its the choice of the people. Don't be an idiot by saying this phone is bad coz it reflects what kind of person you are. I can have a 2Ghz processor with 2GB RAM and the worlds latest OS with the worlds best hardware but that does not make the phone good. There's bound to be some bad points. Why in the world do you think that a laptop can only last at most 8 to 10 hours battery usage.

marckus, 18 Nov 2010No card slot?? I mean, anyone could tell me what's behind t... moreI think the main reason there is no card slot is that the this is a hardcore business phone.
The internal memory is totally encrypted and easily removable memory card is a security risk that many companies are not willing to take.

If the OS is a huge CPU hog and can't properly take advantage of GPU, what is the point? Besides those phones can only run at that 1 GHz for very short periods or they will a) kill the battery and b) overheat.

be aware that this is an ARM11 processor, 680MHz is nothing in an ARM11. the 600MHz cortex A8 processor of N900 is twice as fast as this one, and more than twice as fast in some media apps.
so pls dont think that "680 is not bad, it will not be much slower than a 1ghz snapdragon". Coz it will be insanely much slower. snapdragon is similar to cortex A8 in speed "clock for clock", meaning at 1ghz its at least 3 times faster than ARM11 at 680MHz.
Its obvious by now, Nokia CANNOT make Symbian run error free on Cortex A8 or Scorpio cores, only N900 has a modern processor and its also the only one NOT running Symbian. Not a coincidence. N900 is fast and delicious, ofcorse Nokia would like to make other phones like it, if they could.
If anyone can come up with a better explanation for why nokia swears to outdated arm11 for symbian i like to hear it. They know ppl dont wan ARM11 and still they havent done anything about it. we know its not a hardware problem, N900 (Linux) is the proof.
