Does a lower screen's resolution result in less battery consumption? Can this be the main reason for a 4" display with only 320x640? What do u think?

i only use nokia e series as it serves all my purpose. however, after using e75 i am reluctant to put my money on any sliding phones as there is always a problem with the ribbon or anything that does the sliding function.
also they are not very durable, even if you drop it once the problems starts in the functioning.
i dont know if Nokia has improved their sliding phones or not and i am not even sure if the other sliding phones have the same problem .

SFAN, 08 Nov 2010I think the E7 should have been Android powered.
It will s... morehmmm. I wonder why you would still work on your Symbian OS if you just switched to Android... ;)
The choice of sticking with Symbian is clearly a strategic one for Nokia. They want to keep full control of their operating system. I would agree with you that Symbian^3 does not appear as "polished" as Android or iOS with maybe a little more lag and convoluted menu structures. However, I think there is an advantage to Symbian which is often overlooked, in that it appears to be lighter on resource use (CPU and memory). As a consequence the Nokia phones appear to deliver similar performance with lower hardware specs, when compared to Android. I believe this is most visible when looking at battery life. Many users were worried about the N8 battery life, because it comes with only a 1200mAh battery. However, in practical usage the N8 appears to outperform similar phones running iOS or Android, in terms of battery life.
Just my 2 cents.

I think the E7 should have been Android powered.
It will save Nokia's market share and it'll give them more time on working on their Symbian OS as well as MeeGo.
I've played around Symbian^3 for a bit... it's not up to par with Android.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Nokia fan, but paying this much just for the alluminum casing and HDMI support isn't worth the money.
