i think the phone is not rated properly it is having the newest os symbian 3 and this is made by along intel and the one who thinks that processor is tiny than u all r wrong
these symbians does not need the big processors they are meant for these processors only,
i think the design is unique seen in comp to all the phones.
i think first try the phone then u can actually comment on that.

I think that people who are looking for information know what posts to ignore. Useless posts exist for every phone discussion on this site. It's a shame that the ratings on this site are not really useful. There's already over 7,000 votes and this phone is months away from being released.
In any case, when it is time for me to get a new phone, this will be one of the phones I will consider. Large screen and a qwerty keyboard are some of the main things I look for in a phone. I think this has one of the largest screens for a phone with a qwerty keyboard.
As for the 360x640 resolution, I would like to see the screen myself before I condemn it for the low resolution. So far, I'm looking at the same resolution on my existing phone and I'm satisfied with it for surfing the web and checking emails.

This phone is kinda heavy and battery could be better like 1500 mAh. But nice phone though, how much it will cost?

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2010OMG! a phone with a tiny 680mhz processor, puny 256mb RAM, ... moreCan you grow up and not stop acting like a troll? You keep posting the same thing over and over in all new Nokia phones opinion boards.
Sammy, you completely lost my respect. Trolling and bashing Nokia will get you nowhere. People have now smartened up and realized that the voting results are unreliable when the Sammy get their entire collective to vote 1/1/1 on the competitor's phones. This is too dirty, too nasty, and too unethical.
Sammy, some of your products are nice but your marketing tactic is too sleazy and too sneaky!

There's no use talking to nokia haters. Because nokia phones are too complicated for them, they bash the brand instead. And i can sense that THEY DON'T READ PREVIOUS COMMENTS TOO OR THEY JUST SIMPLY FAIL TO UNDERSTAND!!?
But for the benefit of some open minded people who might be mislead, i'll try to explain, once again.
Nokia is beyond numbers. Although they're getting quite large when popularity is the subject.
Flash lite 4 - lighter version of flash player 10.1 optimized for mobile phones.
680mhz - symbian doesn't need high clocked processor to keep the whole system stable. The late version of the OS have simple Ui with minimal animations and effects. The current, however, is still simple, the main difference will be the fact that symbian^3 is touchphone dedicated. Unlike the first one, which is designed for non-touch handsets. Symbian^3 will require higher power. But nokia doesn't want to suffer the battery life. Thus, the need for a dedicated GPU is realized, to put the Cpu at rest when processing graphics is the only task at hand. Symbian^3 is only new to touch segment, so the possibility of series of firmware updates to fix bugs is quite understandable. Symbian management system is a different story though, since it is one of the most mature, and most functional in mobile phones. It doesn't deserve any insult.
256mb - The size of physical RAM. It uses virtual ram(758mb) though, just like the n900, so the lack of the physical ram is not to be worried about.
360x640 - Although i prefer high resolution screens, nHD doesn't bother me that much nHD is still good enough and i just noticed that it's exactly half the resolution of 1280x720 hd screens. So i guess it's ideal for playing 720p videos. But still, i like some phone's display better, although, it's really not a big issue. I used 240x320 screens of different sizes and i can't find what to complain. I can't see pixels, you know. It's one of the most oblivious things in the world that unless someone pointed out, you won't really notice.
16gb memory only - why not complain about iphone not having memory card slot too? At least e7 has usb-otg.
Lack of AF - it has been explained on countless discussions. E7 use full focus,
which mean every part of the image is in focus unlike fixed focus in which only an area of the image is focused and is fixed on that place only, full focus is ideal for grab shots. However, you can't make macro shots. Let's see how the released product will perform before concluding.
1200mah battery - been there.
Symbian Os and its processor and its battery are related. They work together efficiently.
It's still the preference that counts though. One thing i cannot tolerate are the people who think anyone who buy nokia phones are just fanboys - who know nothing. When, in truth, they are the real fanboys of whatever brand they're currently using, since i can't see any reason for someone who dislike this product to be here. Except they are insecure.
I'm here not because i like nokia. It's because i think, out of every phones in the market today, e7 suits my needs best. N8 as well but it doesn't have document editor so... Wave still on my list, though :p

This looks like an awesome phone .... the voting results are not fair .do not take the voting result to account if u want to judge the phone .I feel the resolution of the screen should have been higher and camera to have auto focus nsted of fixed focus
Nokia and samsung have always been better than iphone(2g,2g,2gs,4)

OMG! a phone with a tiny 680mhz processor, puny 256mb RAM, a stupid 360x640 resolution, and most of all an outdated piece of crap os. and all that for an amazingly late and amazingly stupid price. nokia is the BIGGEST epic FAIL ever. and 8 megapixels of camera with FIXED-focus??!! stupidest things ever!
there is no surprise at all that this company has dropped a HUGE 40% on their profit. even apple who only sells one freakin' phone managed to overtake them as being the world's most profitable handset maker. and lol! nokia just fired their CEO which only goes to show they failed! not to mention their 'mobile solutions leader' just actually resigned. lol lol lol!
all the nokia fanboys were crying like trds saying nokia would announce MeeGo in nokia world. well?? so where is this so called 'meego' now, huh?? another EPIC FAIL.
REST IN PEACE NOKIA!

Alui, 20 Sep 2010So Nokia advances from Flash Lite 3 to Flash Lite 4 in two ... moreThe difference between Flash Player and Flash Lite is in terms of working. Flash Player is a stnadalone software while Flash Lite is a plug-in. Flash Lite 3.0 supports Flash 8 and Flash Lite 4.0 supports Flash 10 through a browser. So Nokia is up to date with Flash Lite 4.0.
And another comparison for you. I have a Nexus One (Ilove it) and a friend of mine has an E71. E71 last 3 days without charging and my dearest last a day... We both use axchange pushmail and we have similar data usage. My N1 runs at 1130 MHZ with an undervolted kernel and E71 runs at 434 MHZ. Both phones don't have lags and do their jobs but E71 lasts longer.
Also, Android is not a lightweight OS when compared to other OS', my Leo runs faster in some application than my N1, for instance unzipping a file or assessing a file on SD card. So we don't know about new symbian and we are not able to know how it'll run on this phone. And one more thing: this phone has much more better GPU than most of the Android phones and I think this will help this one to perform as a contender in the market.

You know , i think the N8 is the best , this device need for 800x400 pixle for the screnn of 4" .....
the N8 is perfectly good , and i need device thenner with a great normal screen (640x360 pixel in 3.5")
and that's mean camera will give you great pictures in 3.5" screen ........ and good luck for your device.

First of all we have to admit that Nokia is tne one who created the smartphone segment but in the last few year Nokia is a little behind other manufacturers in smartphone market. It's very nice to see Nokia is in smart touchphone market with its new N8 and E7.
At first glance, the cpu units and ram seem lame but we really don't know how new symbian^3 will work and what are the requirements for this new OS. And we shouldn't forget that chosing a clock speed for a cpu is also a matter of optimization in terms of battery usage and performance and of course the engineers of Nokia know better about their phone than us. So we'll wait and see how new Nokias with thier new OS will operate and decide to buy or not.
As for now, it's nice to see a 4" capacitive multitouch phone with qwert keyboard and flash support. Maybe, as a Nexus One user, I can give it a try since I'm a corporate banking executive who is always busy with emails...
