Anonymous, 20 Sep 2010Firstly, if you had done a little more reading and less ran... moreI have been using ONLY nokia for past 12 yrs so practical use weighs more then reading, so stop ranting and listen to genuine concerns. At times when phone gets hanged none of buttons works including power button, then removing battery is the only option to switch off phone then switch it on.if the battery is sealed what do we do??
And yes, this is the first device by nokia with sealed battery.
If battery gets spoiled or damaged then we replace the battery for eg. if battery swells up we change it but if battery is sealed then how can you change the battery???or do we have to change the whole hanset?????
Your suggestion of having an extra rechargeable battery is nice for low power battery but what about the previous two concerns?????

Anonymous, 20 Sep 2010Nokia never ceases to disappoint me. I was really impressed... moreWould you rather it had all those features, weighed 200g, was 17mm thick and cost 1000usd? Be rational. This is the 21st century. By todays standards, it is impossible to create the perfect do it all device. Somethings have to give. The biggest loss in this case is the card slot. Though usb otg ought to sooth that ache.
The lack of Af is understandable. Af requires moving parts in the camera module and hence, a much larger camera which means a thicker device. Lack of af doesn't mean it won't take good close ups though. My pals 5230 takes wonderful shots at less than 30cm with its 2mp snapper without af. You can only see the blur(which is not too much) when you view em on a big screen. Ppl are just blowing the issue out of proportion. xBesides, its an eseries not a media monster.

Rational individuals like myself would pick dual led over zenon any day.

If th... moreFirstly, if you had done a little more reading and less ranting, you would know that the on/off switch is fail proof. It disconnects the device from its power source when held down for 8secs. Quite similar to that used on laptops. If you battery develops a fault, have it repaired AT A STORE. They're all over the place. That is Unless you live in antartica or some remote oasis in the sahara. I really don't know what then fuss is about. Its not like this is the first sealed battery mobile. If you need extra juice, there is a nokia rechargeable charger for that. It stores up to two charges and is very compact.

Anonymous, 20 Sep 2010Stupidity people buy BRAND, not quality or speed! Because ... moreStop spreading false rumors/opinions as facts. All new Nokia models--announced at the Nokia World 2010--have metal shells and working lifetime navigation. I have the Galaxy S and its GPS is terrible and worse than the 5800XM's. (I do admit the S has a nice screen. It also has the cheap plastic shell, unlike the new models from Nokia which have metal shells. And Nokia is also well known for superior signal reception.

With all these and you still say that Nokia used inferior parts? Huh!? Didn't you read the rules "No bashing - deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand" and "No trolling - deliberately antagonizing other brand/model users". You like your phone, good, but trash talking Nokia will only make me people more sympathetic towards Nokia. I for one refuse to buy products from a company that would use a low sneaky sale tactic as sending its workers to trash talk its competitor.

Nokia never ceases to disappoint me. I was really impressed by everything on this phone until I read that the camera is fixed focus... And no Xenon... Plus 16GB of memory instead of 32GB like my N97. I even hate my N97 for all of the issues I've had. Otherwise, this phone looks great though. I'm really looking forward to the Desire Z though.

It would be interesting to know the answers regarding the sealed battery rather then comparing two handset and fighting over it in this forum.

Only thing I'm bit disapointed about is the processor, everything else is wonderful.

My first choice is Samsung i9000 Galaxy S, the specs are very good.

Biggest problem of e7 is that the battery is SEALED.
If the phone gets hanged and power on/off switch does not work then how do we switch off and then switch on the phone.
We cant keep spare battrey so as to change the battery if its low and this phone has only 1200mah battery.
If sealed battery gets spoiled or damaged then what do we do??? How to change the battery or how even nokia care will change the battery???
Anyone has answers to these questions, NOKIA people if you care????

Does this phone has an auto switch on and switch off feature similar to Blackberry? If not, it is a shame Nokia phones do not have such a handy feature. I have scourged the Ovi store too and it seems there is not a single application to support switching off and On Nokia phones automatically.

Because of poor business, Nokia this year at a large loss.
There is a reason why new phones is delayed for sale and
why Nokia made new models from cheaper components than the competition...

You waste a time to explain the true for N fans!
