Good phone, but ..
- I buy this phone lately, and I tried to used Memory 512 that Freely provide by store (promo) beside the 64 provide by Nokia. Then I found problem, overall it detected but after I used Camera and try to save it, found message "DATA CORRUPTED!!" (the main message). Then HANG..
I return the product back, and they give me the New One, but its still hapenned. So I had to find solution: CASHBACK, I WONT BUY THIS PRODUCT. (Though I like it so much, damn).
- The second lack, is the update of picture and the OS tilt rather slow than my ex 6680 (I guess 6680 the fastest Symbian I ever used). It's like N70 that people said like Snail.. oh what a pitty..

Beware! The Nokia E70 is not supported by Maxis Malaysia for its 3G Portal services like the CNN and CNBC video live package. I am very disappointed and enraged as I purchased my E70 phone from the phone shop in Maxis' lobby in KLCC and I obviously expected to be able to use this service.
Is anyone with Maxis aware of when or if the E70 will be supported for live video feeds?
Would a software upgrade by Nokia make this phone compatible?
I noticed last weekend that the E70 model was not sold in the phone shops in Singapore’s malls. Perhaps the reason for this is a defect or compatibility problem with 3G live video feeds??
If anyone in the know can clarify this issue I would be most appreciative.

I got mine over a month now and all I can say is I got my money's worth. I'm a person who travels a lot and needs to be connected to the internet a lot.
This device has all the connectivity options you want, ie. GPRS, EGPRS/EDGE, 3G and WiFi. The screen is excellent! It also supports various push email applications including Blackberry. It has DOC, XLS and PPT applications. It also has a PDF viewer and can support ZIP files. Email can handle attachments. Music player is a basic one, but it's fine with me. Good loud speaker too. Videos are good, but the still photos are lousy.
The downsides of the E70 is the camera and the slow UI. It takes time to get used to the lag switching from one function to another. But, with all the features jammed into this unit and it's matching affordable price (approx. $400), it's a great buy for power users like me.

Last week, I just bought my E70 at Sungai Wang for a cool (Ringgit Malaysia) RM 1,860. Not the AP set but fully warrantied by Zitron/Nokia. Sadly only the Silver set available. I really wanted ONLY the keypad to be black ... but everything else can be silver / gold mix. I have seen E70 photos from Taiwan with just the right mix match!!! Can't wait for those accessories to arrive here.
I travel a lot ... so I converted trailers/teasers video clips and full length movies into .3gp tailored for E70 screen size. (Took me days to find the right apps to do the job)
YES I DID IT!!! Thanks to "Helix Mobile Producer v11.0.547"
Now I can watch self-made two hours movie "Layer Cake.3gp" on my E70. 350x240, 25fps, VBR resolutions. About 300 MB file size.
Nokia officially replied me saying NO to self-download for E70 firmware update. Must bring to their outlet.
thank DEV for all your tips.

I just got mine today. Pheonomenal overall. Really really amazing. The one downside is the time it takes to go from normal to Landscape... can be as long as 5-9 seconds at its worst... usually much faster than that tho. I can't seem to find (or it does not feature) as much customization as there was available on my 6800. I need an aftermarket video player tho, its seems the realplayer in the phone hates every format except the version of mp4 that the phone records... Is there a good symbian/nokia site/forum that is good for this kind of thing? Thanks
Nokia e70- 400 dollars.
1gb MiniSD- 30 dollars.
Stereo Headset with remote- 23 dollars.
Stealing my neighbor's Wifi internet from my cellphone- PRICELESS.

Today is my contract day!!!!!
And the best place to get cell phones in New York City (in Chinatown, of course!) is getting the European version for me tomorrow!
Here's hoping they have it for me as promised!
They did have the asian keyboard version in stock, but they will have the english version for me at a price too good to post yet! (don't want to jinx it!)
I'll report in on the results of my own tests as soon as I have it.
And on the price (unbelievable!!- but this is the same dealer that sold me the Motorola A780 Smartphone last year for $200 cash (tax "included" when you pay cash in Chinatown, NYC and no hidden charges on a one year contract!).
I cannot wait any longer!
I spoke to the Nokia store in Chicago today.
They pretty much said there was "no real reason" to wait for the North American version- if I was going with T-Mobile anyway AND that if I travel overseas, I'll probably get better service and roaming with the European version anyway!!
That's all the motivation that I needed to hear!!!
Thanks All- = ;-)

Can anyone tell me about the Battery?
I'm considering between
E70 and E60
I've heard that E60 is about 2-3 days (average use)
What about E70 ?????
Is it also smart in Batter Saver ????

I guess this is the "whatever u want it can do" phone ever made by Nokia.
I'll buy this phone soon..
I've been using 6680 type for 6 month, and use Yahoo GO! apps for receiving mail and for Yahoo Messenger, quite good. So I hope this phone can replace the flaw of quality pixels and Web browsing (real looks).. Also the nice thing is it can edit the office apps. Conclusion: this is really phone for businessman.. U know Intelligent never looks so good, haha, but anyway it had better keypad than the ugly version of 6680.
Though the review said that some drawback from quality of camere (not best 2 MP), anyway I rare use it, so be it..

Greetings. Its been 2 weeks since i have this phone and i am satisfied. The phone never crashed, never lost signal, WiFi works like on a pc, however, the RAM problem appears. When you switch in landscape mode, the qwerty driver and display rotation do require some time and RAM. Then when you switch back you do not get all the RAM you used for landscape. Why? Well, it is not the phone. It is the OS, NOKIA reported there is a glitch with RAM allocation. Nothing we can do until an update ....

hi users....
i bought my E70 frm Malaysia , just 2 weeks ago and hv configured all my e-mail and the internet settings for home , work and outdoors . It is a great phone .. Of late i have been experiencing this problem . My phone "freezes" on the Messaging application . When this happens , all i can do is to turn off the phone and switch it on. It works well , till the next time the "freeze " happens , again only on the Messaging application.
When i checked with Nokia Care , they suggested to try using the phone w/o the Mini SD card , however this has not made a differnce . My phone still pfreezes . Malaysia Nokia care - says i shud format the phone and reconfigure all settings. I am not satisfied with the suggestion . I would be grateful if anyone cud give me any tips / help ...

As heavy user
I'm worry about the flip system in E70. How is the battery life?
Thinking about P990i, maybe better than P900?

I've decided that this is the one for me.
The ONLY thing it really needs to be a "10", is more RAM...
The 75 MB falls into the category of "just getting by" for a sophisticated device such as this.
NO, this cannot be SOLVED by adding a 1 or 2 GB card... That is not how the Symbian OS works (from my terrible SONY P900 experience- see below), you can store aps, music, files, etc on the card, but the OS does NOT access the "memory" as system memory (unless something has changed significantly in this build- which I doubt based on all the "can't load CNN posts".
I've done lots and lots of reading on the E70. Lots of evaluation of the Pros and Cons (did you know that you LOOSE the USE of 6 MB of RAM when you switch to LANDSCAPE mode? That adds to browser memory issues I've read about here.)
Still, all things considered, I'm going with this one over my only real other choice (BenQ Siemens P51, which runs Windows (and crashes (as per posts on Windows phones) as often as Windows desktop).
I did had the P900 and paid full price for it... worked seamlessly for 11 months and then, replacement after replacement from the service center left it crashing and restarting so many times per day (different units!!!) that I could no longer even use it as a basic cell phone!-- SONY... no longer the one and only. I cannot take another very expensive gamble on SONY, if they refuse to stand by their product they they sold to me....
HERE'S
MY
Question:
Can ANYONE tell me where in New York City
I can BUY this phone LIVE & IN-PERSON (not just "order" it)?????????????
I want to be sure I get the European build (see it for myself), not the Asian build.
Please email me if you know PHYSICALLY where to
buy IN-PERSON in New York City: johncrant@yahoo.com
(that carries it, not orders it)
THANKS GSM ARENA & posters!

When I try to connect via wi-fi with my E70, the phone may download half a page then stop downloading all together. This happens when I'm within feet of my office wireless network. It also seems to happen when connecting via GSM. The signal strength isn't as good as the Nokia 6620. The Nokia 6620 never dropped calls. This E70 drops calls even when the signal strength is good. Anyone have any solutions.
