E71 GAL, 03 Dec 2010Hi there E71.. actually that's what I did and what I always... moreI see... I think I know what you're talking about. Sometimes I get the same result (buffering or split second lags) due to the video quality.
In some videos (like the ones I get from the net) that problem does exist. On others that I rip from DVDs myself, I noticed that I do not encounter issues. Tell me if you notice the same, it could actually be the video source and not the player. Or the E71 video player simply chooses to buffer low quality video. If all else fails, you can try using Core Player for E71. I haven't tried it myself, but other users here say it works fine.
I think you can find it in mobile9 or getjar or some other site like that.
By the way, where are you from? :)

I use the Nokia PC Suite to transfer videos from my PC to my phone as it converts videos to their right format and bitrate. But it's just like that, save it to my memory card and it just pauses as if you're watching on Youtube and it buffers. It's a bit like that, only shorter buffers. Like half a second. Some videoes by the way play smoothly. I just notice that with a couple of videos I downloaded from Youtube. I'm planning to delete those videos and maybe transfer them again using that same process with PC Suite. Maybe that would work. If you have other troubleshooting ideas, let me know! Thanks!

E71 GAL, 01 Dec 2010Im having a bit of trouble with playing videos that I copie... moreHi E71 Gal,
The Nokia E71 video player is pretty limited in terms of video codecs and can't play all videos with high bitrates (videos bigger than 1.5 GB). Here's what you can try, if you haven't already.
Use the Nokia PC Suite to transfer video files from your PC to your phone. It automatically converts your videos (even ones from You Tube) to the correct format and bitrate that your phone can support. Be sure to save the file (2 hour movies take up 300-400MB) on your memory card.
Let me know if this works.

In our country we can't use 3G yet and so no way for video calling. My problem is during voice call. When I cut someone's call it usually hang for 2-3 seconds. I found it china made (not china model), korea made or even in Finnish made set. So I thought it to be a hardware problem. Did you ever have this kind of problem during voice call?

Did you see when the problem occurs during call? It ... moreHi Arif,
I'm sorry to hear that. Fortunately, we dont have issues like that here in Manila. Could it be connected to the 3G network you are using?
Ours is 2100 UMTS and the 3G connection is strong and covers all the urban locations in the country without any lost or dropped video call connections.
Aside from possibly the hardware having issues, this is the only explanation that I can think of.
Best of luck to you. Hope you work out the bugs
