Enter your mobile number and country, and Yahoo will send you the link via SMS. On your E71, follow the link to download the app. Once you download, just install and you're good to go.
They Yahoo messenger app is actually just a widget to the mobile version of web messenger, so don't expect much. If you would prefer a third party app, try fring or nimbuzz, both are free via the Ovi store.

If still under warranty, bring it to your Nokia Cust Care and they'll either upgrade your device software, and / or recommend hardware repairs for your secondary camera.

suriaveni, 15 Nov 2010am happy by using this phone, but a small worried.. the bat... moream happy by using this phone, but a small worried.. the battery wont last forever eventhough 24hrs..

You may want to check your apps running in the background. Long press the home key to see if any apps are left open. If you don't close them when you are no longer using it, it contributes to draining your battery.
Make sure to turn off your WLAN, Bluetooth and GPS when not in use, as these drain your battery fast. Actually it would drain any mobile phone's battery fast if left open, not just the E71s.
ANother option is to change your display setting. It maybe set on high or brightest. You wouldn't need it there during daylight so let your ambient light sensor do its job and detect the time that it should display brightly. IF you want you could also take away the key sounds to help prolong your battery life.
One last thing, try to avoid charging your battery when its not fully drained or when you charge it for less than the maximum charge. This shortens battery life considerably.
Clean your battery terminals with a soft dry cloth. Hope this helps

Anonymous, 16 Nov 2010Is E71 really better than E63?Yes it is.
E71 - 3.2 autofocus camera, has GPS, steel casing, slimmer, has video call camera, has 126 MB RAM
E63 - 2 MP fixed focus camera, no GPS, plastic casing, no front facing camera for video calling, no RAM

Everything else is exactly the same though, so if the above mentioned specs are not important to you, then E63 (which is cheaper and has a 3.5mm AV jack) is for you. Either way, you can't lose.

eski2005, 15 Nov 2010I'm trying to set up push to talk, but have no idea how? Ca... morePush to talk feature only works in Europe and some parts of Asia. Here in Manila, Philippines this feature is disabled because carriers would lose money because push to talk works as a walkie talkie. Imagine everyone can communicate through voice without needing their service providers. Unlike Skype or IM, these can be used through the providers 3G network (or even edge and gprs) so those features are enabled. If you want, I suggest you install fring or nimbuzz on your E71. You can send IMs through wifi so at least thats still gives you real time communication thats free. Skype is also an option, once again through wifi. If you can't find a free wifi hotspot, then you're out of luck my friend, you would have to spend :) but still, better than BB messenger with its pricey BIS right?

anand, 17 Nov 2010Been using this junk for the last year and this phone is no... moreHi Anand,

I've had mine for almost 2 years and I've never had any issues with hanging when using email and the internet. One suggestion, you may want to close all running applications as E71 supports multitasking. Having several apps open at the same time can slow down your browsing experience. Also, use the memeory card to save your media files like movies or mp3s, rather than the internal phone memory as that also slows down your browsing experience. If you have more than 200 emails in your email inbox, try moving them to your memory card to free up some space, that will speed up your email experience.
If that doesn't work, try upgrading your device software to the latest version. You will need to back everything up on your PC and memeory card though. Hope this helps.

sassy girl, 18 Nov 2010how do you go to a portrait mode?Hi Sassy girl,

Unfortunately, E71 does not support portrait mode, as even pictures shot in porttrait mode are presented in landscape, although I'm not 100% sure.

One question though, why would you want to view things in portrait? :)

rahul, 20 Nov 2010is this phone have video calling? pls tell as this site sho... moreYes rahul it does support video calling. You will need to have your carrier send you the internet settings for it to work. Also, you'll have to have a 3G signal when you video call (as not all areas don't have signal) as well as the person you are video calling. It follows that the one you are calling also has to have a handset that is video call capable and has the settings set up. Pretty esay right? Enjoy your E71, better than Apple's facetime.

[deleted post]E71 and E52 are good smartphone

E71 has qwerty keypad, so it faster for typing
E71 has great build quality, nice design but its fingerprint magnet
E71 has larger accessible memory, so it has more space for system application (application will place system file even if you instaled it on micro SD)
E71 run on S60V3 FP1 symbian, that means its easier to hack your phone

E52 has alphanumeric keypad, so it slimmer, lighter and comfort to place it in your pocket
E52 has better Email UI, faster and easier to manage email
E52 has better camera (even it doesnt support auto focus), much better audio quality
E52 is faster cos it has better processor
                            E52 has better battery managemnet,

Well thats my oppinion on basic feature as I use E71 and E52
