Welcome to E71 club. My very sincere advice would not to use any passwords as we all tend to forget them sooner or later. And then the only way out would be to get the firmware reinstalled thus loosing all your data. Also, make it a habit to backup your data regularly.
Moreover, there is no provision to protect your files selectively. It's either all data or none.

One thing i don't like from Nokia is its name..
If named "nexus" maybe i would buy one..
