Accelerometer helps to turn the screen orientation of the phone automatically. There are many games and apps which also use the same. Buttonless control.
E66 does not support document editing by default. However, you can install apps to edit later on.
E71 has a full qwerty keyboard and a large capacity battery. E66 is a slider with a lesser capacity battery.
All other features are the same i guess.

The Nokia E71 is a sleek, functional and overall AMAZING phone to have. I love the QWERTY keypad. I am a bit Tech Savy and this phone is so great for working in the environment that i do. The capabilities when compared to the BB 9000 and other blackberry models is outstanding. One of the best phones yet brought about from Nokia.
I am sure all will enjoy this handset!

Can anybody tell me the firmware this phone originally came with when it was launced ?
The phone was released in July 2008. I want to know what firmware it came with when it first hit the shelves for sale.
For those who bought the phone the moment it was released and haven't upgraded their firmware any at all, please tell me the firmware on your E71.
Type *#0000# in standby mode to find out.

to upgrade FW, use Nokia Software updater. But do not upgrade to version 200.21.118. This is full of bugs - gps problems, cannot connect to gprs or wlan. well not all people have these problems, but some of them does. so, if your phone works well with FW 1xx.xxxxxxxx then i suggest to skip this version.

Look wise its a good as well as a vey compact. only thing is key pad ia very small pratically for use and camera quality is also not good.

I turned on the GPS of E71 while travelling through plane (was curious whether it is possible for it to catch the signals and show the details) and guess what?
It not only showed the cities above which I was flying but also the speed of the plane and also at what altitude it is flying...
Most of the time (about 90%) it was connected and there were many few instances when the GPS signals were lost...
[Use of electronic devices while flying is generally not allowed, if your plane dies due to GPS then only you will be responsible for that...]
