E71 is by-far "THE BEST" phone Nokia has delivered for the business & fun series. It's UI and battery backup are simply outstanding. For once, Nokia also seems to have resolved the software-hanging issue. You can't get better than this on the Symbian OS and user friendliness of Nokia. Well done Nokia!!

but now nokia is alunching or probably launched an upgrade fr E71 which helps its give blackberry services too.
so its, no way anywhere lesser than blackbery. ppl can goin fr blackberry can definately go fr it
i was almost over wid nokia, till the time i bought this phone

I have given up on this phone. I am using my old 6822 again.
The usability of this new OS is poor.
Searching names finds words ANYWHERE instead of just at the beginning. Every time it takes longer to get right person.
Anniversaries and birthdays do not display number of years anymore. This was good on old OS.
Backlight brightness comes and goes randomly. 6822 has an on/off button!
No countdown timer (I use the one in the 6822 for so many things).
Setting alarm sometimes sets for today, sometimes for tomorrow, always have to scroll down to check what it did.
Setting anniversaries sometimes sets the day before. Always have to edit to correct.
Probably other things I can't remember, but I couldn't be bothered with this anymore. Old Nokia OS was more mature.

You need to download the new firmware installer from Nokia, and then run it on your PC with the phone connected over USB.
Your PC will need a fast internet connection, because even after you downloaded the installer, it still downloads a further 105MB for the firmware update.

100.07.76 is my firmware and when i check nokia updater it says the same thing.... but no-one else seems to have the same firmeware... im confused... any one know why that is??? .... ps. ive got most of the things from the new firmware such as the fn key phone locking... my phone hangs about once a week..

Everybody ia not a business man, nor a speciality except mails etc. Many buy being new model but its cam and call drop plus mini keypads are biggest flaws.
new pearl white cilor is horrible esp side rubber covers of usb and MC become dirty black within a week and cannot be cleaned even by petrol.Pity whole set looks dirty, any suggestions.

Well I've answered a question or two which pertained to general E series. I have been around.
I must tell you that I have read everything comment since page one.
You know me, as soon as I get mines I will be resident.
I still want us to use VOIP one of these fine days.
Are you currently using any VOIP services now...I guess more than likely FRING...but how about SIP services...example a service which requires PROXY and REGISTRAR settings similar to Challenger Mobile etc.

If u ask for 1 good reason to but this phone,It has 2 be the battery life.I have achieved 3 days with wifi & reasonable texting,e-mailing & video calls.
Although the camera quality is terrible (even with the latest firmware update promising 2 fix all that),especially in low light (where even my 2mp iphone beats it)
The browsing experience is not up 2 the mark,especially compared to my iphone & HTC diamond.Overall its a great buy,but only if u e-mail/text a lot.

I hope they have installed the new firmware.I gave it back to them because the phone was only three days old and under warrenty.i didn't want to fiddle about with it in case they made an issue over it. anyway, will see how it works out.
