I don't think that screen is to small 2.3 inch is more than enough, also you can't compare Nokia 5800 which is touch screen model with E71.
I do own this phone for the last couple of weeks,fast interface, one of the fastest ever symbian model (I did own N95, N73, Nokia 6600 (one of the first symbian models))many features to keep you busy. And one of my favorite things about E71 is that battery last at least 3-4 days with regular use, for example sending 30-50 messages a day, 10 calls a day for about 5 min talk or longer, browsing for 30 min a day...playing games while traveling in underground...all in all great performer.
In case you don't want to spend so much money on E71, there is alternative, buy E66!

simply the best phone ive ever had and ive had a few... from lg's to blackberry's... im not a nokia fan but damn i know what ive bin missing all these years.... it has everything and does everything to utmost perfection... browsing is faster then my laptop!!! yeah ok camera is kind of worthless but besides that i dont think there is any other phone on the market at the moment that can better the mighty e71...
if your not sure about buying... then i suggest you stop wasting time and go for it now :) cause you wont regret it... worth every penny 10/10

Screen to Smaaaaaaaaaall it will hurt your eyes. $500 for 2.3inch? i think no , i will buy notebook or netbook with that price.

i want to upgrade my adobe le v.1.5 to 2.5, is it compatible wid d e71? Or is there a way to crack d software?coz iwant to view large pdf files wid my e71

It's not fair to compare E71 with 5800 Tube. E71 is enterprise phone. It is made for business apps where 5800 is for entertainment. Music, video, internet and so forth. Look at the designs and features. It just speaks for itself. E71 lacks independant lock button. 5800 has it just like any conventional mp3 player. 5800 is much more suitable who listen to music wherever you go and little need to edit office apps or heavy typings. E71 is email and office phone. Get the phone you need. If you need phone that does better job at listening to music, surfing the net, playing video etc, get 5800. If you type a lot and need to work with office apps, get E71. E71 obviously has better implementation of GPS and Wifi. You need those for buisness. 5800 on the other hand, much better implementation of music players and video viewing.(large screen. duh.) If you need phone that does everything, wait and see N97 to come out and lets hope Nokia does better job than just putting slide out keyboard on it, including better camera.

and i have noticed another thing: before i updated the software the shortcut for the fulscreen video was Fn+2 and now it doesnt work anymore....no you just push space and it goes fulscreen and back if u push it again shich is sooo much more practical=) btw, thanks for the article about the new version of the software being available, if i hadnt read it on gsmarena.com i wouldnt know about it for atleast some weeks and i would go crazy in the meantime because of the freezing problem that i HAD...

I had the freezing problem...whenever i wanted to go into the "menu" it froze and after a feew second (a relatively looong time, 5 or 6 seconds) it was okay again. when i was inside the menu it was okay, but waiting to get there was a pain... anyway, ive put on the new version of the software and the problem has vanished into thin air=))) now it is totally bug free=) never collapses, even when im listening to music, playing a game and there is g.maps or another app waiting for me in the background...its processor can manage anything u throw at it! the only thing i havent figured out is the push email service, because i have it ON and it still wont forward me my email from my google account, i have to connect manually and then i can receive it... another thing is the camera, its terrible with normal everyday use, but its f* awesome when u take pictures of documents!!! i think as it is a kind of a business phone the camera is enough and okay...

Can E71 type using the number pads same as other phone which does not have QWERTY keypads?
Currently I am using N73 and have got used to write SMS using keypads. But the QWERTY keypads on E71 are best to use during internet browsing or some documents editing etc.

I would like to buy a new phone and I narrowed down my choices to E71 and 5800. Which one would you recommend keeping in mind that they have the same technical specs( apart from the 5800's touchscreen). Thanks!

I bought the E71 last Decemeber and I have had no issues what so ever. It is simply fantastic. Great battery, great looks and all the features to back it up. Blackberry's are or should be yesterdays news with this new bad boy on the scene
