I select the option "PC Suite" when I want my phone to be detected by Nokia Suite (previously Ovi Suite). However, I totally understand that this doesn't always work. I'm not sure of the reason why but this is probably how Nokias of this world works. :-) But we still love and use our phones anyway.
Few things you can try:
1. Make sure that you have the latest Nokia Suite installed: http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-ovi-suite
2. Restart your phone. Connect your phone to PC using the cable and select "PC Suite".
3. If #2 doesn't work, connect via bluetooth. This is weird because connection via bluetooth almost always works but not via cable.

Your problems with wifi and antenna are better to be handled by experts from Nokia Care Center in your area. There's a possibility that installing the firmware updates (in case you're not using the latest one) may fix those problems but there's really no guarantee because these may also be caused by hardware issues/defects.

How do i make my phone start working with wi fi. No luck at all. My batt goes dead after a day does it mean i have to replace or upgrading to a higher version might help? You seem to know alot abt the e71. Tx-from kenya.

hey guyzzz plz help me out, i have a nokia e71 whose firmware ver. Is 100.07.76 ,08-06-2008 , RM-356 , Nokia E71-1(21) ,
I want to update the firmware but when i connect it to pc my phone shows the connection modes ,the four options pc suite, mass storage, connect pc to web, media trabsfer. But when i select any of them nothing happens, the pc does not installs the driver and does not detect the phone. I have even installed latest version pc suite. And used pc suite cleaner etc etc, and even tried on another 3 to 4 pc's but tha same problem continued...how the pc will recognise my e71 so that i will flash it.. Plz gus help me.......
