I was planning seriously to get the E72, because of the upgrades over the E71 (600 MHz, 5 MP, 3.5 mm jack), but I've never seen a phone get so many contradicting reviews. Many say that it's really good and fast, but others like you and Rajesh bash it for bugging and other reasons.
I need to get a solid answer. I'm not going to try myself and get severely disappointed if it turned out to be crap.
Do these problems you mentioned occur with all E72 models or just the Chinese made ones? Are the problems present in the earlier batch of E72 meaning that they will be fixed in later batches?

Hii all.. i purchased my set 7 weeks back and i'm fully satisfied with it.. the only problem is backlight leaking from below the soft keys and the home key.. Now my question from new users of this phone is, does the problem still persists in their phone..

Well,i have been using this fone since a considerable period and i am quite happy with its performance.it is exactly the fone i would recommend for those people who is in need of a complete package.
Finally i would comment on this fone as ''the best non touchscreen by nokia that money can buy reasonably''.
So folks who are in search of a complete package in non touchscreen,NOKIA E72 is for u.

How could I restore the phone to its factory settings ?
I tried reloading the firmware, *7370# and all other known options, but it still does not really RETURN to factory settings, leaving things like GPRS/3G operator settings intact.
Any ideas ??

Vishal, 16 Jan 2010Used this phone good at first sight in all respects but res... moreOften these restarts are caused by memory card bug or corrupt file rather than the fone itself..Always use a freshly formatted card and format it in the device itself..Ive had so many problems with taking out the card from another fone and putting it straight in your new fone especially if it anothe operating system..

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2010does the qwerty light in dark ?Yep its lights up but depends on the light sensor in bright lights,,for example you can see the qwerty in light so no need to waste battery lighting up qwerty..Sometimes if the light sensor is in light and your in darker area it may not light up..
I can understand some little bits of symbian been buggy but build quality is solid,,if i hit my headwith it sideways it would really hurt or knock you out..The torch function is much better than xperia or k770i is really bright and the manual warns you not to shine it directly into peoples faces,,animals come to that.
HAS anyone tried VLINGO yet it guides you thru the setting up procedure and along with the built in synthesiser i am astounded at how much voice recognition has come along..Also shozu or another foto uploader were trying to charge me forthe app so ended up using snaptu for free..Using e52 for main fone till ive got e72 set up theirs so much in this device it does the lot..

My WLAN on E72 is always ON. Always i... moremenu--settings--connection--wireless lan--show WLAN availability --set to never ..
IF that fails then an app is using wlan i would suspect to access web..
IF you go on web and choose your connection as wlan THEN it overides that you switched it off in main menu and lets you connect..When you have finished doing what you were doing on web be sure to EXIT web else it will just stay connected ad infinitum or till battery runs out..These devices use computer technologyu employing RAM caches and procceesor and also therefore you have to exit all apps like on a computer else they run in the background using batterry and raw proceesing power and RAM..Press the house key on e-series device for a few second to show all running apps..

My battery lasts about 2.5 days using 20mins phones calls 20 txts sent recived per day..tele watching plus web browsing in 3.5g and music playback..I estimate battery as double the power of my now sold n86..Also times stated by any firm are absolute maximums under good signal low backlight and so on..Under heavy use watching tele on hsdpa and screen full brightness and volume on 80% the battery gets warm which is natural and the stainless stell back acts as a goos heatsink..Its in the manual that 3g video calls can cause the device to warm up,,it also means your sucking up the battery..

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2010no such thing as tap-for-time :( tap-for-time can be activated on e72 by pressing the center key when the phone is key locked, it displays time and other phone status.
