If you are wise and patient and not easily tempted or manipulated by advertising, buy the E72 after ONE YEAR has passed from its launch.

If you want to have STABLE operation, wait for six months before buying this.
If you want to have lots of problems with the TEST FIRST BATCH UNITS, go out and buy this NOW, NOW, NOW.
If you want to save money, wait for six months.
If you want to throw away your money, buy this now.
If you are strong and cannot be easily TEMPTED by advertising, wait for six months or better yet, ONE YEAR.
If you are weak and easily manipulated by advertising, then buy this unit NOW, NOW, NOW because you cannot wait.

Last year's gadgets are more stable, the problems have been ironed out and most of all: YOU SAVED MONEY.

The best decision? Buy the E71 or the E63 instead of the E72. You won't regret it.

In addition to my previous message, I have no software issues, light leakage etc. My phone is perfect. Mine was made in Finland. This where Nokia was born so I believe my model is a pure breed. I can call it a Lion born in the wild and not one born in the zoo. Even if you experience minor light leakage or software bugs, it will be cleaned up when Nokia release an update. I don't know when they will release one. Remember to ensure your battery is at full strength and you back up all your phone data prior to an update or your phone will die and you can lose everything on your phone. Nokia for life.

        Hi all,

After months of waiting for its release I have finally got my hands on my Nokia E72. It's release was delayed and this made me even more confused as I considered getting a Nokia N900 or N97. I even considered the ultimate sin, the iphone 3GS. I am extremely happy with this purchase and advise it to those still undecided. I purchased it from play (dot) com. I am situated in London, UK and have the Metal Grey model. It is unlocked/SIM which is perfect. I purchased it just after christmas for £309 UK Pounds. I only recieved it today but it is very fast indeed, probably Nokia's fastest phone processor (over 600mhz). As per other owners opinions, the navi wheel is average. It is not as good as Blueberrys Navi wheel but that doesn't bother me. The screen is brilliantly clear & bright, the is torch bright. The camara is good for 5MP. Again, I have a digital camara so am not to fussed. I got a 2GIG micro SD card with the phone but have ordered a 8GIG one with amazon (dot) co (dot) uk as I will need to store photos and games on. The volume on speakerphone is alright. It feels solid but not as solid as the E71 which was completely metal. E72 is mainly metal but has some plastic on it. The E71 had a glass screen. Its younger more improved brother E72 has a plastic screen. The batteries are the same. The E71/E72 have Nokias strongest battery. My brother has the E71. My mum now wants the E72 after seeking mine. My dad will be jelious too. The E72 has the normal mains charger. Also it has a USB charger wire incase you want to charge it from your PC/Laptop USB socket. I have not used this yet. For those who are wondering not that it matters, mine was made in Finland. I presume all European models are made there due to Finland being in Europe. Asian/African/Middle East models will probably be made in China. This doesn't matter as Nokia will have a benchmark worldwide standard. I will play around with it more and hopefully update you on my findings or lack of any if applicable. Prior to this I had a chain of Nokia's N95 8 GIG, N96, Nokia 5800 etc. I have Nokia in my blood and can't leave this brand. I love the OS Symbian too.

Just sharing my exp with E72..has bought mine last weeks..i think GREY colour is already stabled than TOPAZ/BLACK. no bad issues like hangs lags etc.. the phone is really fast and also stylish even with GREY one. All features works fine (email, messaging, sound, camera, trackpad) plus battery life superb! I would suggest if u looking for topaz/black wait until march-april the firmware would be fixed.
So any users wanna share abit with me too.. Thanks :)

Its Chinese made, under nokia supervision,a gimmick to fool people. fonts magnifier still needed to read in 2010. batt daily, video primitive. No button for camera, same centre touch. built light emmiting from keypad, topaz hasent finished in MEA region, its the first batch, wait for second batch out mid jan in market by feb, march. firmware price stablized by then.

well it is a very nice experience with the E72 it well stuffed with features, fast and stylish steal the eyes around u, but somewhat buggy after a week of use i suffered from some hang one or two times, spacebar malfunction once after using the tourch light and the navi wheel stopped but all solved by rebooting the phone, i am waiting the update release to solve it

Rajesh, 05 Jan 2010By end of February 2010 the price of E72 should be around U... moreWOW.. I was gonna go with they grey but if the white is gonna look anything like the white E71 I'm getting it. I am in S. Korea and won't be back in the USA til August so I can wait...by then all the software kinks should be worked out, the only problem with that is if they come out with an E73....then it's decision time.

                                    Why Nokia E72 stinks!
                                    I write to Nokia -
I have selected to "Hide mails older than two weeks" and Email download size "Full message".
However it shows mails only upto 4 days old. Also it only downloads headers and not attachments. I have to retrieve the attachments manually.

                                    Nokia replies -
Further, you may kindly note that it is the default feature of Nokia Messaging service where you can synchronize only the last 3 days emails. However, you can store email messages for up to one month with Nokia Messaging. Those messages are stored in the device memory of your phone, so you may wish to change the amount of stored messages in the settings on your device.

                                    1) Go to the Email launcher
                                    2) Select the Settings icon.
                                    3) Select What to sync.
                                    4) Select Inbox.
                                    5) Select Remove older than and change to desired value.

Please note that when you initially set up Nokia Messaging you will receive email from the last three days, and then automatic delivery of new email will begin. Old email is stored to the value you set in the Settings menu.

Full message: This setting downloads the entire message during synchronization.

To edit the Email download size launch the Nokia Messaging client application and perform the following:

                                    1. Select Settings
                                    2. Select What to sync
                                    3. Select Inbox
                                    4. Select Email download size
                                    5. Select either (Headers only, Headers plus or Full message) 6. Press Ok

Further, with reference to automatic download of email attachments, we would like to inform you that by default, the Nokia Messaging client is not configured to automatically synchronize email attachments to the Nokia device. Perform the following steps to enable automatic downloading of attachments:

                                    1. On the device, click on the Menu key.
                                    2. Click "Installations".
                                    3. Click "Email".
                                    4. Click "Settings".
                                    5. Click "What to sync".
                                    6. Click "Inbox".
                                    7. Click "Auto download attach...".
                                    8. This setting will now say "Yes".
                                    9. Click "Back" three times.
                                    10. Click "Sync" to update the setting.

We trust the above mentioned instructions would assist you in retrieving the email attachments automatically.

I mean are they dumb or what?
