Friends, I have been reading the reviews which have been just added, its good that people have made up their mind and are ready to do some compromises regarding plastic or price point. Some of them have even claimed you have to wait 1 year for price drop. Some are claiming this model is good for 3 to 5 years.

Friends, as it is obvious there are 2 catagories of people, one who will buy a new most awaited model immediately upon release and another category who will compare it, study it, wait till they have all information about the product and then go for it with full satisfaction that they got stable gadget and an affordable deal.

When Nokia releases its new model in market, the 1st batch is always in limited quantity. This is a trial batch which is kept at higher price because the chances of getting complaints, replacements and returns is very high.

People who are ready to spend and want to be proud as the earliest owners of such awaited gadgets are first clients who take up this lot.

Nokia gets feedback and judge the demand with this batch. Friends, never fall victims with the purchase of the first release of new model. I myself bought it but with clear intention to let go of it within a week of 10 day.

Many people just now assumed there will be a gap of 1 year before the price will drop. Be ready for a surprise. I am expecting E72 to sell around USD 350 by end January 2010 or max by mid February 2010.

Keep yourself connected on this site for next month or so as you will be hearing a lots of positive and negetives from people who are the buyers of the first lot and get the benefit of waiting and judging the phone. Moreover by the time Nokia releases the second batch in a couple of months it will be more stable and cheaper considerably.

      Have a good time.

        The mail client also sucks.
I have put setting as retrieve "body, text and attachments", on auto-sync, POP3 mail.
Still when I click on the mail header, it then begins to retrieve the mail.

If I buy this phone over the E52, this must last me 5 years. Great features, great price too.

This is an awesome phone I'm sure.
If you have the money, go for it.
If not, and you can wait, give it one year of patience.
And you will save a lot of money.
Just don't look at the E73 by that time.
The most important feature is the FLASHLIGHT.

I got this phone the moment it came out and I don't regret it. I hate it when people keep comparing this to other phones and say bad things about this phone. If you don't like it then go with whatever phone you want to get!!

This is worth every penny, the price of this phone is a steal. I don't do anything much with it besides surfing the internet, texting a lot, and listening to music. The plus side to it all is that it's a darn gorgeous phone! I love Nokia and always have. You can't go wrong with Nokia. =)

I myself buy E71 when the price is quite high, but with it I can produce some money that already equal (even more) with the money I spent for E71. so in other word, I get my E71 freely.
Imagine if I have to wait to buy it (i.e. 1 year later), I will not get both my E71 and my money right now

Why do we need to carry a heavy phone in your pockets?? The weight for this baby is fine for me!! Just right & perfect!!

Don't be too worried about plastic and all.The most important thing is,this phone rocks!!.It delivers many great applications and all well, for me at least.

No restart problems, great battery life so on.We can never have a perfect phone. There's always a "plus and minus" in all new releases.

If they came up with all the best features that we need,I think the next release will be like 3 - 5 years later.I don't thing we want that to happen right??

Get and buy what you need and don't complain too much :)

Quite honestly, I think the only reason the E72 won't be a top seller is the display. The screen size is a bit small and even if the size was the same, at least the resolution should have been improved.

Again, these things are all relative. The E72 disply is still awesome, but when comparing it to the competition, it seems kind of inferior. I'm still buying it though, considering everything else the phone offers.

Damn, the E72 is what the E71 should have been!

Prince, 30 Nov 2009Hi, am a mechanical engineer doing pursuing product design.... morePrince - some greats points you mentioned. Never actually thought about the advantages of plastic over metal. And again let me just mention this - the E72 DOES look great. It may seem a bit inferior when held right next to the E71, but by itself it still looks hot. Especially when it's on and we get to see the new menu icons etc.

Many of my friends who have Blackberrys agree that it E72 looks better than their phones. And the weight factor is another thing...if the E72 were more metallic, the weight would go up. I'm thinking it's fine the way it is.

The point I am making is that E72 software is different, but not superior to E63/E71.
I bought E 72, 24 hours ago and the speed is only a slight improvement.
Also I am having issues with the mail client, vis-a-vis E63. I have called for the dealer's person to come down to help on these issues.

Hi, am a mechanical engineer doing pursuing product design. now please let me clear some details about the material. firstly, Stainless steel s heavy. already e72 weighs 128g. so nokia designers came up with simple solution, plastic. now please understand that plastic is not really bad. especially wen proper grades r used. two major advantages are
                                1) matt finish will always avoid scratches, no matter wat SS s used, lusterous metals will get scratched.
                                2) plastic s replacable, ie. if metals r used, mishandling will be a nightmare. a small dent ll look sick and also, the metal ll lose its tightness property.(my friend dropped his e71 once)
to add on, plastic ll break not bend. that means technically, the inner part s safe. SS ll bend which ll lead to damages like impact on battery etc. This s not a review on the phones. Jus thought of clearing a misconception because we ve been working with metals and polycarbonates a lot.

                                thanks. good luck!!

the excellent investment rule to protect your money from depreciation is to use delayed gratification by waiting for one year before buying a new phone. wait one year after its release - then it has already lost value - why, will you die if you don't buy the e72 now? if the answer is no, then wait until all the defects in the firmware have been corrected and the price has gone down. then you have saved money by using patience. but if you are terminally ill ,then buy the nokia e72 now.

                                      When is the E73 coming? I can't wait! How about the E74 and the E75, E76, E77...
