I have this phone from last 2 years & I was able to update the latest firmware till last year 2011. I had 71.## firm ware on this phone, but now I am not able to upgrade to 91.##.

When I try to update it try to connect to NOKIA & says, no update is available. I also tried the hard reset but still no luck.

Any one can help me out how I can upgrade it to latest firmware? Is there any configuration change I have to do with the NOKIA profile? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Today I bought a second hand E72. Before it I had Nokia N95 and when it was stolen I bought Samsung Omnia II. You cannot compare Nokia with Samsung. Nokia is much better than Samsung. Nokia camera is very clear and photos are realistic. I only saw blur pics in Samsung. I comparing N95. I should say N95 speakers are more powerful than E72. Buttons in E72 are soft. Camera were similar to N95. Good functionality at lite and weak in lake of lite. E72 is much better for Internet because of its faster page navigation and keyboard. Screen in front of N95 is small a little. VOIP technology is one of the biggest advantages of E72 to N95. Any way but its weak speaker nothing bothered me and I am happy with it.

It dosent work for me, after a year camera didnt work and the phone is shtuting down ....

AnonD-18125, 10 Oct 2012Guys pls help me. Should I buy E5 or E72? E72 has 128MB RAM... moreDon't bother with the Nokia E5 due to the double RAM advantage over the E72. I've used Excel in the E72 while supervising production lines. I've used it with several open office files and apps without worrying about limited RAM. The only instances the E72 and perhaps the E5 will run out of RAM is when you use the stock Nokia web browser. There's OperaMini for that, faster and more convenient tabs too. TheE72 costs more despite half the RAM but it has much more to offer than the E5.

                              Nokia E72 >>>>>> E5/E63/E71
I'm not sure where to put the E6.. Either it's better or on par (if not worse) with the E72 in terms of MS office. The touch implementation of MS office in the E6 could be better or less than what's already offered in the E72.

32months and counting... My Nokia E72 is still in very good condition.

Been using my Nokia E72 since March 2010, ypu, 2 and a half years already. The qwerty keypad is very good, still unscathed, no scratches..and I'm a heavy texter.. The only nicks and scratches are on the painted metal with the menu, shortcuts, and the Dpad. Also, the bottom part of the chrome-painted frame has peeled off in places. Anywhere else, it still feels new.

The loudspeaker is not as good as my Xperia play.
The still camera is better than the Xperia play, better night shots, wider range of controls.
The video quality is not good.

The screen has very deep blacks. Mimics the amoled's when in brightest setting I suppose.

The touch sensor in the D-Pad is very useful in Camera-mode in which a long tap acts as a half-press which focuses on the subject and a fullpress captures the image. Not so useful in scrolling since it moves in equal spaces, so unlike the zippy Blackberry.
However, my love for Gameboy and DS game emulators have found the Dpad very useful..instead of pressing preset keys I only have to SWiPe on the DPad. Much like swiping in galleries.

After 31 months, my praises and compaints:
-excellent materials and experience w/ qwerty keys
-excellent still camera. I never used the front cam for 3G calls or chat.
                                -excellent Symtorrent app lol..
-excellent Music player which could be slow to browse
                                -excellent Opera Mini browser.
-excellent FM and free Online Radio you don't find in other brands.. Hundreds of stations to choose from.
-can edit and create MS Office 2010 files. Preparing Excel spreadsheets, reports on the go was quite useful.
                                -screenshots with Screensnap
-no stock threaded sms. Requires rooting.
                                -limited use of touch Dpad
                                -wealthy security options.. Filters!
-useless Email client (can't wifi, didn't use it at all)
-now, I can't access public wifi!!! Only secured networks with passwords.
                                -lowquality youtube/video streaming/videocapture
-after 2years, ghost files show in the gallery. Deleted files still show blank icons. This require hard reset.

Can't have it all. Almost 3years now and I still love this phone. I didn't upgrade (or downgrade?) to the Nokia E6 due to its fixed-focus EDoF 8MP. No regrets. But since qwerty WP8 Nokia's are still far from reality, I just might get an E6. Besides, it costs half now than it did when it came out. Blackberry might perform better and have better apps but I'm not pleased at all with their layers of interface and tinny text. It's worse than Symbian menu layers and looks dull! The E72 is still an excellent buy.
