After deep meditation, I have realised that this is a transition phone. It is a good idea in that the phone is now flexible in texting. This phone is geared to fit the heavy texter. The QWERTY is far wider than that of the E71.
It is even wider than the E61i and HTC Touch Pro. If the keys are responsive we surely have a texters dream here!
The reason why I called it a transition phone is that Nokia still have to overcome some puzzles. For instance why did the E55 receive a faster processor, bigger internal memory and bigger battery?? It doesn't make sense, especially when E75 will probably have the heavier workload on account of the comfortable QWERTY.
Another puzzle is size of screen and resolution. Business phones are now moving rapidly into wider screens and higher resolutions. In non-touchscreen phones this has proved harder to implement because with touchscreens one can use the onscreen dialing pad and thus maximize screen width.
The obvious way to keep a phone simple but still have a high res non-touch widescreen, is to place the numeric dialing keys within the QWERTY. I and many others are prepared to slide out the keypad in order to make a call followed by sliding in to speak. It is only one small procedure longer than a normal slider and the gain is worth it. Look! Nokia could have placed a 3.5 inch
640*360 px or even 800*450px screen in this E75. This is better for those who indulge in heavy texting and the internet. Somebody who is a heavy caller can always have a second smaller phone eg E51. Many businessmen have more than one phone.
Nokia had a splendid opportunity to implement the bigger screens but missed the bus!

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2009I really like the design of this phone. The slick, slide-ou... moreI think this design is perfect, even with the small screen. Having a big full qwerty keyboard for heavy text input and a T9 in the front for dialing and text messaging is a good solution.I had a HTC tytn and as I dont like on-screen keyboards I found that it's really difficult to write with one hand with the slider keyboard, now I have a E71 and It's really good, even with the qwerty keyboard being so small.I'm happy with it but I'll be waiting for the E75.

I really like the design of this phone. The slick, slide-out QWERTY for extended texting is very welcome. The phone is reminiscent of HTC's S740, but I am certain this Nokia will be more user friendly.
I am puzzled why the E55 has more internal memory, a faster processor and greater battery capacity. Was the E75 sleeping while the fried chicken and barbecue source was being handed out?
Furthermore I can't help thinking that many would prefer a wider screen (3.2-3.5 inches), higher resolution and a QWERTY at the expense of T9 keys.
I would be even willing to go through four processes to dial a new number rather than the usual two in order to gain the aforementioned features.
The four would be slide out the keyboard, dial the number, close the keyboard and send. What do you guys think??
