depends on what functionality means to you. follow the threads there's less discussion on function but more on features none of them make sense. they complain about camera quality and mp3. these are "extra" features but it's not the phone's strenght. E90 is more useful than what people think here and it'll do what the specs says but i just wished it had the 9500's office and S80's easiness not to mention the "quick" shortcuts. and FAX, of course! it doesn't have touchscreen and you'll be much happier without it. touchscreens are for cash registers and people on hand and eye therapy. you're twice as fast using keys than touchscreen.

good for you! E90 got you. but i'd like my 9500 to adapt to my needs not the other way around. i use word and excel a lot so it's a real "minus" for me. but that's just me. some people are happy just carrying it around without knowing the full functionality. and one more thing it doesn't have fax.

This is the best ever phone in the market now.Everything in this phone like DISPLAY,GPRS,WLAN,WIFI,INTERNET,GPS is awsome.O2.iMATE,SONY ERICSSON wakeup time now .The "BIG DADDY" is in the market.I bought it,use it and really i love it.The customer service is very Friendly and usefull.If you want sleepless night and rudly behaviour from customer care then try SONY ERICSSON P990i.

This phone is just awesome and looks like a phone for keepers. I got the red colour for rs 37k in mumbai. I am locing it and its worth every rupee i have spent. Also have the n95 but have switched to the e90 for my primary use. Its just awesome and with firmware updates it will get better. Go for it serious buyers. There is no reason why you shouldnt buy this phone.

Dear All,
Series 80 will no longer be available anymore. Nokia is replacing all phones with S60. and in the future S40 might be also replaced with S60.
there is NO E91 or E92 or whatever with S80.
i swtiched from my 9500 to the E90, well i found dificulty at first, with the keyboard and the O/S. but ull get used to it within
24hrs time. there are some drawbacks in the E90 like(deducting the menu key from the keyboard, Office is less powerfull than the one in the 9500, no shortcuts on the desktop for excel and word files) but also there are alot of advantages (Much Faster, No more unsuspected ERRORS, same O/S from the outside and inside, GPRS, much more 3rd party applications, ect... )
So for communicator users u need to adapt to the new platform as soon as possible.
So dont wait for S80 cummunicators anymore...

yes. the keyboard is backlit and there's bulb for swithcing it on. symbian still beats WM when it comes smartphones. S60 is just to "amateurish" in my taste and you tend to play with rather than work with it. I'm hoping Nokia puts back a developed S80 on the next E91 o E92. am sticking w/ 9500. WM is for those who want to play

just a small doubt ppl. if u ve used this mobile i woildlike to know if in the internal QWERTY keyboard is illuminated. as in does it have light underneath d keys. thanks in advance

the new OS (S60) is not great for a cmunicator... i whish nokia kept the old OS (S80) and simply imroved on it.

For those who had never owned a comunicator before, the E90 is good phone, but is very costly vs. the E61i, which is almost the same software.
However, for those who have owned a 9500, for say... i think they will not accept very well the new E90 software(s60 vs. s80); Nor will they also like the new keybord; which is the main diff from the E61i, they should keep the 9500 or simply buy the cheaper E61i.
Nokia will lose lots of its old comunicator customers by not keeping the s80 platform or switching to window-based OS.

had it for 2 weeks now and i must admit the display is good, hi res, sturdy built BUT i'll keep my 9500. 9500's keyboard and ease of use is better. S80 is easier overall in my opinion. E90 goes to my wife. i'll just be replacing my casing on 9500 & battery. waiting for E91 with S80!
