i have used several nokia phones which were made in china. But they never had any huge problems. some minor problems do occure in every phone but those can be solved by using the phone properly & upgrading the firmware. See the bottomline is many people still don't know how to use a smart phone properly. & hence the problem arises in most of the situations.

First, if you could use at least a REASONABLE english in your posts, more people might be inclined to answer... :)

Of course you could use VoIP over GPRS/EDGE, assuming you have internet connection. I don't see much point in this though, unless your carrier has cheaper data transfer rates than voice service. Except for long distance/international calls, where VoIP would probably be cheaper on many carriers.

The largest benefit of VoIP would be when using it over WiFi network, where airtime is free...

It's exactly the hardware that might be of inferior quality when made in China. It's not like they're gonna use different firmware in China than elsewhere...

And by hardware, I mean the keyboard, hinges & such, not the chips (which are made in Southeast Asia anyway). Build quality _might_ be inferior, which might lead to other problems as well, like poor solder joints & such.

It has happened before with other manufacturers (i.e. different quality products from different factories in different regions), but that doesn't mean it will happen with Nokia as well.

Nice One..even if it is made in china... nokia will never sacrifice its quality norms.. lets hope the best to out in market

How can you say that made in china have problems? Because hardware is going to be same for both made in china & made in finland phones. Only issues will be regarding softwares which can be solved by upgrading the firmware.

Nokia has not set the release date, but it _should_ be out soon. It probably will be available in a few weeks (there are rumors that it'll be out next week).

Now $1100 seems a bit high... I mean, sites are taking pre-orders for $800: check out http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wireless/store/productdetail.asp?productid=22047&refid=froogle&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=E90&utm_campaign=froogle , and this is first google result, so it could probably be found for less than that...

Other thing I don't understand why people care about is availability in this country or that country... Once it's out anywhere, you'll be able to buy it online. Unless you want it with contract for cheap, but that depends on the carrier, not the country.

After speaking with owners of the N95 and reading various fora, it is obvious that there is something wrong with the China-made N95s. There is a serious lack of quality control. I wish Nokia would stop making phones in China because they produce an alarming number of faulty phones.

Just because it's made in China, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll be bad. Don't get me wrong, I do agree that most the stuff coming from China is crap, but it still depends on who makes it. Wait until it's out, and then we'll see...

As for videos on youtube... It's just the flash player that's needed, and the current version for mobiles apparently doesn't support FLV video. But Flash Lite 3 should be out soon, and it will support it. Meanwhile, if you _really_ need to play those videos, you can always just route them through your home PC, transcoding to whatever formats are supported on your phone...

Thor: if you can write a flash player on your spare time, in C++, for the phone (non-i386) running at ~300MHz, with no specs for the format, kudos to you! :)
