Carol, 14 May 2023Oh, sony, don't let me even get started, they are even... moreI would reserve N Series for future flagships. I had this crazy idea for a while. If it's too costly for Nokia / HMD to develop and manufacture a proper flagship, why not cooperate with another phone maker, say Sony. They could split the development costs 50/50, and they could split the revenues 50/50. Sony fans will buy Sony flagship, Nokia fans will buy Nokia flagship, one phone with minor stylistic differences. After all, even world's number one automaker Toyota couldn't make a proper sports car alone and went to BMW, and BMW Z4 became Toyota Supra. Sony has a history of collaboration with Ericsson, and Nokia / HMD has a history of collaboration with Microsoft. And both Sony and Nokia collaborated with Zeiss. So why not?

If you want to have a chaos example, use sony😏. Anyway, if i would have bean at hmd helm, i would reduce everything to a maximum of 5 devices. Because they fo not want to get cought in a battle of flagships, where the most money is lost and the least is won, they could:
X series for upper midrage-> sd 7 series.
Bring back the N series for rugged. N series were always the ones where innovation was active. I consider the xr20 quite a good example for innovation, sadly xr21 not so much.
G series for midrage -sd 6 series
    C series for low ends
And well because hmd still wants to release for emerging coutries where 100 euros could be very expensive, then a A series, for darn cheap.
And for special devices like g22, that should not start with 20 but with 1 something like Nokia M1 (m for modular), and develop that idea to a greater stage, a take on Fairphone. They have the brains, they just need a foot in their a... to keep them thinking😅

Carol, 12 May 2023Yeah they managed again to mess up the their Lineups... Sad... moreAgreed, it's all messed up. Maybe go back in time to where they started.
Nokia 6, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.2, Nokia 6.3... and so on for 6 Series...
When Nokia abandoned that naming strategy Sony stole the idea but used roman numbers.
So Nokia needs to steal it back from Sony.
It will go like this — Nokia 6, Nokia 6.I, Nokia 6.II, Nokia 6.III, Nokia 6.IV, Nokia 6.V, and so on for 6 Series...
      And likewise for other Series.
      Only have 9 Series, 8 Series, 7 Series, 6 Series, 5 Series and 3 Series. That's it.
      T Series for tabs.
3-4 digit naming for feature and KaiOS phones.

I mean, i can understand that they released x10 and with it, it's upgraded version x20, so let's call them two versions at once, not that bad. But then we have c10 or g10 that also received their bigger brothers c20 g20 but then... G50 came out🤦 and instead of 10 by 10 jump they started with 1 by 1 jump (probably because they could not have to many jumps until they would reach the g50/c50 barrier), so we now have c22 and g22, but then we also have c30 and c32🤦. Going back to x series. They then released x30 and instead of releasing x20 like they did it the first time they announced the xseries, because well, would be impossible as the x20 is already out (why wouldn't they just think of that when releasing the first devices in the first place, beats me!), they released the g60 instead🤦. Going back to x20 they also released the rugged brother xr20, but wait, why not xr10? After all the chaos they decided to put even more of it into the mix so they released the xr21 insted of xr30, that would have made a lot more sense. It is like they are doing it on purpose. I hope only that they now will not release the xr30 with other specs... Or xr50, to also give them space for the xr2x series...🤦

The timeline is the year 2024. Then in 2025 it will go X60, XR60, G60, C60, T60 and so on... It's funny I've just remembered Nokia have already released G50 and G60. That is why their lineup is messed up. Nokia needs order, or as Germans say — Ordnung.

Starting from next year: ... moreBut, you have to clarify with HMD as to whether they have the permission to use Lumia brand name. If not, they (HMD) need to spend a lot again to license "Lumia" brand name. I say this because, it seems that you have drafted a Product Development Strategy for HMD, though you haven't specified exact timelines for every product.

                  Starting from next year:

                  X Series — X50 - Upper mid-range / Affordable Flagship - Snap 7
                  X Series — X55 - Midrange - Snap 6 (More RAM, better cameras, better features than G50)
                  X Series — X55c / X50c - Carrier specific

                  XR Series — XR50 - Tough phone

                  G Series — G50 - Mid-range - Snap 6
                  G Series — G55 - Lower mid-range - Snap 4
                  G Series — G55u - Lower mid-range - Unisoc
                  G Series — G50c / G55c - Carries specific

                  C Series — C50 / C55 / C55c - Budget / Entry level phones - Unisoc / MediaTek

                  F Series — F50 / F55 / F55c - Feature phones

                  T Series — T50 / T55 / T55c - Android tabs

                  Wishful thinking:

                  N Series — N50 - Flagship - PureView + Zeiss - Snap 8
Nokia Lumia 50 - Nokia Windows Tab
                  TR Series — TR50 - Tough Tab

                  Ditch 'Plus' and 'Pro' monikers...

For example, half of the planet earth are women. Do you think many women know about chipsets, rams and megapixels? Of course not. They come to a shop, see a nicely designed phone with smooth interface, crisp screen, quality camera and buy it. They choose on impulse and emotion, not calculation. So the chance that a girl shopping in electronics mall would pick up a gorgeous Nokia X30 is very high. Especially after seeing that it is made from recycled materials and is earth friendly, because women care about such things. But Nokia is not available in many countries and many stores, and loses the competition. Such a simple fact that nobody seems to realize. Oh, well...

No, no, no! You guys are all wrong! The percentage of people who sit down and start comparing phone chipsets and calculating rams and megapixels is very very very small. Most people never do that. All of those things don't matter and not a selling point for any phone. So how come a legendary Finnish brand Nokia sell less than Chinese brands? The answer is so very easy. Nokia does not advertise, Nokia is not making itself available in many countries. That is the only reason. If Nokia advertised and was available in stores it would outsell all of the Chinese brands. For instance, in my country I cannot find a Nokia phone anywhere even if I want to buy it. Few feature phones are available, but not a single Nokia smartphone. Before returning to my homeland, for many years I lived in Turkey, and you know what, I couldn't find a Nokia phone anywhere. On Turkish TV, never have I seen a single Nokia ad, but Samsung, Apple and Chinese are advertising like mad. What kind of crazy Nokia strategy is that? If you don't advertise, people forget about you, no matter how great a brand you are. Just my two cents. Nokia, wake up! Fast!

I like this phone very much but if only it was smaller I'm wanting a 5,5-6 inch phone and with this ifixit I would buy it. But now I'm have a Nokia X30 since last year it is a bit smaller for me X30 has a better size but I would like it even to be a bit smaller.

They will probably be a successor to x30, but i do not know if it will happen this year. I jave a feeling that they will shift again their business strategy and will follow Fairphones footsteps with their next devices. I tought that they have a direction afzer releasing the first g and x series, well they lost it again. This guys really need a better marketing leader and clear business strategy and stop releasing 100 very low level devices. Concentring on software and faster bug fix would help them a lot in the long run.
