Guys good news...all who are on 8.1 DP will get 8.1 gdr 1 next week with all new features....but iam gonna down grade to 8 and then to official 8.1 with cyan and then to 8.1 gdr 1 dp.

But, i don,t expect from amateurs that played a bit with it to know how to take a shot. This is not for amateurs my friend. For that, you pointed well, go for android and iosha. This is for enthusiasts. And the system is just flowless and new. While others copied palm os and especially symbian, this system is trying to be different.

petet, 29 Jul 2014I realy dont understant the battery issue here, I am with 8... moreIt will probably be better once the official 8.1 can be installed. My battery also lasts for a very reasonable time and no issues whatsoever. Though my Lumia 1320 still rocks.

Awful phone - steer well clear.
Battery life - rubbish
Earpiece volume - so bad you'd probably be as well to ask the person you're speaking with to shout to you instead of calling as you'd probably hear more.
Camera - GREAT definition, but rubbish zoom. Pictures of anything from more than 10 feet - forget it. Flash is too bright as well. Night mode without flash, may as well not bother.
Other points - gets very warm when using - slightly concerning. Unless you have PIN lock on, all sorts of apps & programs can be opened in your pocket. Certain apps tend to crash & need reloading - possi OS compatibility as it's not iphone or android.
Cannot wait for my contract to be up so that I can get rid of this utter piece of turd phone.

I am also experiencing same issue with nokia lumia 1020. I purchased it few hours ago. Took some pictures and lens area become warm.

saj, 13 Jul 2014poor camera quality. i never get a pic quality of 38 mp. al... moreyes, it's worthless for you only one. I don't own m8 but i own 925 and s4, i have to say that 925 is better in term of camera, not to mention premium build on my 925. Android is the the best platform for me that is why i'm using both phones. WP has done a great job as well but surely, i falls pretty far behind android.

Xin, 23 Jul 2014The phone is nice, and the camera is beautiful. But the bat... moreDo some force reboots holding down the volume down button and power button for more then 8 secconds. If nothing good happening, charge it to full, do a factory reset. After, just let it charge to full and discharge to 5 percent 3 times. Also, let 2 hours to charge, egal if it,s already charget. Everytime, let it 2 hours. Last, after charge, just let it rest for an hour, so don, t stress the battery, thia should help a bit. Or quite more. It is true, 1020 is a power hungry so more then a day and a half with medium usage you won,t get, if you will get. But, if use it quite less, then shoild last a while. Mine consumes less then 5 percent in 10 hours while in standby.
