Nokia Lumia 1020 to allegedly reach End of Life in September

14 July, 2014

It seems the Nokia Lumia 1020 is about to reach the end of the road. According to a tweet by evleaks, the phone will reach End of Life on September 14.

Nokia launched the Lumia 1020 in July last year. As with any Windows Phone, the Lumia 1020 didn't exactly set sales charts on fire, especially considering the high price of the phone in many markets.

Despite that, the phone set a benchmark when it came to camera performance. Even today, it is hard to find a camera phone that can match the image quality of the Lumia 1020.

By End of Life, we assume it means the phone won't be produced any more and sales will cease shortly after that. The phone should, however, continue to get updates as long as Nokia deems it fit.

You are right! It's a good summary of why people don't buy Nokia Lumia phones.
