BG, 21 Apr 2014still i don't know how to update wp8.1 ? Where i find out ... morego to windows store and install Preview for developer do the registration and enable the preview for developer, you can check for registration by click more info in the application, once you do registration run the windows update from settings you need may be to update many times and you will get windows 8.1

1) I must customize my phone as I like. (NOTE 3 overall, LUMIA 1520 Live Tiles)
2) Battery should survive one and half day with heavy Net browsing. (LUMIA 1520)
3) The phone should not get heated while downloading from Net or while charging. (EITHER)
4) I'm not a heavy gammer. (EITHER, though Android got more apps, just saying)
5) Camera clarity is very important! (LUMIA 1520)

+ better camera
+ much smoother touch experience (lag-free)
+ better maps
+ longer battery life
- lack of apps (Windows)
Note 3:
+ more features
+ more apps (Android)
+ S Pen
It really depends on personal taste & function.

I am in same boat as you. I am also a proud owner of pureview 808 and is using it as primary phone since last 1 year.
However due to Symbian store getting closed and not updated, I am getting out of sync with apps now.
I have zeroed on Lumia 1520 as a successor to pureview 808.
However I will wait for another 2-3 weeks and let it's price settle down. Currently its appx price is Rs 38000-39000. Waiting for it to reach Rs 35000(650$) and in the meantime might get additional color choices of Green and Orange to choose from.
I am not a fan of android so for me personally it does not make sense to even give any suggestion of +ve of -ve about it. I am satisfied with 1520's camera, battery, offline navigation, Full HD big screen and some apps that windows store has to offer. So I kind of already sold on 1520 and it's matter of time to get it in my hands.

I try continuously many times but i fail but some 1520 users posted in this matter and they did that work successfully !!! that's great but i am also interested to update 8.1...
please say through your posting...

you might find differences in..
touch sensitivity.
sunlight readability.
home screen is more live.
might get issues with old installed apps.
IE 11 is great
new settings will be found under wifi,nfc..etc
network+
but better you take a back up and update.
also do hardreset after update to experience the actual WIN8.1

I know, it's foolish to ask you which is better between two different Os! Android and Windows......
So far I hadn't used either Android or Windows.....
I'm a Symbian fan! My present phone is Nokia 808, the 41mp cam phone. It is serving me well. But I know it's limits in the present tech world! So I need some change!

I have upgraded my Nokia Lumia 1520 to WP 8.1. After updated the device starting heating issue & battery draining very early. Does anyone know about downgrade the device?? Or any suggestion to rectify the said issue.

eidbest, 17 Apr 2014Try Avast Free antivirus, does a good job.lol WP8 doesn't need any antivirus app. Also there is no such thing as an antivirus app in WP8. Only Android needs antivirus.
