Non_insider, 10 Jul 2016Yes Equilizer is available even after you upgrade to windows 10I flashed the Chinese firmware yesterday and can see the Equalizer and network changing options too! Only 4G and 3G available, NO 2G.
However I am not seeing an update to Windows 10 yet. What needs to be done to get the update?

One more doubt. Do you see a 4G signal on this device after following this process? 3G and 4G net pack prices are same. So would I be able to see 4G signal or just 3G?

in first boot you can choose English language..
No you cant change network_type after you upgrade to windows 10. it will show just 3G but it stays in Edge. but when you have 3g data pack it will automatically switch to 3G.. after 3G data ends it comes down to Edge automatically...

Hi,
When you flash the Chinese firmware 059W0P1 on Lumia 638, will you get to see English language or Chinese? What about network selection problem after I get the Windows 10 official update? Do I still cant select 2G/3G/4G manually in Windows 10 or you were talking about on Windows 8.1? Did you notice equalizer in this firmware?

1.Lumia 638 India 059W853 didn't get the Denim Update hence no Windows 10 (Official OTA). Though you can get windows 10 via Windows insider app but we really miss the Firmware update that comes with Denim that includes Better battery backup better touch, Audio equalizer etc. So this method is useless..
2. 059W7D8 is the another Product code for Lumia 638 India. and this has the latest Denim firmware. But we can't Install Windows 10 in any way in this Product code. So this is Waste..
If anybody just want Windows Phone 8.1 with Denim firmware on Lumia 638 India flash this firmware 059W7D8.
3.Here is my Fav Solution for Lumia 638 India for Windows 10.
Just flash the China's Firmware 059W0P1 Which Has Denim firmware and it can officially upgradable to Windows 10 No Insider app required. But one small problem with this firmware you cant manually switch between 4G/3G/2G. it is automatic.. by default it will Show only 3G in SIM settings. It will switch to 3G or 4G when you have that active Data connection. like if I activate 3G Data then it will switch to 3G after the data ends it will come back to 2G that is Edge. Other than that Problem it working flawless.. and I am getting regular windows 10 updates as other windows 10 mobiles gets.
Note : You have to download the English India Keyboard and English India Speech to enable Cortana after you upgrade to windows 10 in this China's Firmware.
In this firmware you will get lot bloatware (China's useless apps) and we can easly uninstall them..

As far as Lumia 638 is concerned it is the worst phone launched by microsoft via online results without any kind of reception just to clear the stocks. So finally they forgot even launching this phone way back in December 2014. Microsoft doubt whether this phone exist.
It is obvious that Lumia 638 is only upgradable to denim and windows 10 mobile only through windows insider program which contains a lot of bugs that could stop 638 functioning. But 638 still haven't got the official denim update yet. So no windows 10!! All windows 8 based phones got denim, but 638 was an exception as Microsoft didn't even bother to push the ota update.638 is one among a few window 8 based windows phones to qualify to run official windows 10 mobile. But Microsoft in India abandoned this phone. Due to lack of updates this phone started to degrade in terms of performance. Windows 10 Update for 638 is the only way to get rid of updates.638 users in India are screwed. This attitude of Microsoft makes me to regret for purchasing this phone. This 638 was sold with a promise that it is windows 10 upgradable, they even pulled out that webpage. On the contrary, 638 in other regions has got Ota windows 10 mobile official update in other countries except in India. No matter how many times we contact Microsoft they'll say "wait for sometime"which is ridiculous. Its because of their dodging skills and untrustworthy nature they struggle in the mobile world. Nokia did a way better job.

Then your phone first update to Lumia denim if your running Lumia cyan... Then you will be able to update to windows 10

Don't buy this phone. I just gave mine to service centre because mobile was dead. And Now they are saying that the Lumia 638 Model is not in service anymore so they are replacing my mobile with Lumia 630.
