Ric, 20 Mar 2013This is what I found in the nokia website: Lumia 820: S... moreI am using NL 820 presently.. i should agree that camera capabilities are better in NL720 than NL820... but daylight conditions should be almost same in both and front would have considerable diff.. at night i guess both would be same again may be slightly better front for NL720.. the rear camera has wider aperture meaning more light can go through producing better images.. its surely better than NL820 in that aspect.. But weigh down other things ur sacrificing ur RAM and proc speed...(512 vs 1 gb; 1vs 1.5). proc speed is ok but ram surely makes a diff in future...

Bought NL 820 on march 5th... the phone is totally awesome no doubt about that and WP8 runs smoothly with the 1.5 Ghz dual core proc and 1 gb ram and playing games would never be proble with the adreno 225 gpu... i should mention that the hardware specs like ram,gpu nd proc are same as NL920 so the phone runs in par with NL920..
Video calling is quite good and i would say the quality is enough(used Skype) but video calling in low light is a serious problem and i dont think any phone would rock in low light video calling so this shouldnt be a problem..
The rear camera has a 8MP carl zeiss optics, fantastic for photography.. with lenses the photography goes a level up.. One disadvantage over here is low light photography. Low light photography is not upto the mark and NL920 rocks in low light photography and has Optical Image stabilization which NL820 lacks. if you want the best photography then 820 is clearly not your choice... NL920 gives you best photography as of todays smartphone market... i doubt even GS4 would match for NL920 because it lacks OIS.. the megapixel count is 13 but remembe megapixel count alone doesnt ensure ur camera rocks. Xperia Z camera isnt upto the mark though the MP count is higher than NL920..
coming back to NL820, it has dual LED flash. video recording in rear is of two options 720p and 1080p. 1080p quality is way awesome no doubt about that(again i recorded in daylight condition, night recording yet to do).. but users mus be warned that a 2min40sec video uses 300mb of storage.. so a 32gb storage card is must for extensive video use.. inbuilt is 8gb and it is better to leave it alone for WP8 apps, updates etc...
Volume levels are pretty decent and i am happy about it.. Bundled headphones enabled with Dolby enhancement is quite good, cant say they are the best.. but being a 3.5mm jack if u have a better headphones, then plug in and enable Dolby and it will rock for sure..
The screen is awesome for every use let it be photo,video,bright sunlight condition etc. the ppi is low but AMOLED with clear black display makes the screen look like a HD+. the screen resolution is 480X800. the images look very crisp and the blacks are excellently produced. one would surely love the screen of 820. i would say these are the 2 disadvantages comparing NL920 and NL820 a)camera, b)screen resolution.. and that surely compensates for the price difference.. advantages are memory card support and removable user battery, also exchangeable user shells for the NL820...
