kr4t0s, 03 Feb 2012Past experiences with Win Mobile OS since ver. 3 that Micro... moreMy experience with WM doesn't go back that far. My issue is not so much whether they actualy provide them or not but the silly excuses etc. they come up with and the act of deliberately buidling in obsolesence to devices just to be able to say the old device cannot run the new O/S due to hardware limitations.

For example. I had an HTC HD2 running 6.5. It had only 64K colors when all Symbian devices at that time had 16M. So the limitation is imposed by MS on HTC at hardware level. Just like the single core limit now. Lo and behold what is one the limiations to stop them providing WP7 upgrades for it? Only 64 K colors! Oh and let's not forget the 5 buttons instead of 3 on the front panel, only for the lastest devices to be back up to 5 from what I understand.

If they don't want to provide updates, just come out and say it. Don't play silly games and tell even more silly lies.

[deleted post]Of course not. I ain't stupid enough to buy one. 25 GB in the Cloud!!! Lol.

Funnily enough I have now heard WP8 supports SD cards so perhaps WP is not quite a total joke now.

Past experiences with Win Mobile OS since ver. 3 that Microsoft did not provide OS upgrade for the old device which meaning we have to buy the new handheld and the old one became obsolete, different with iOS and Android which provide their update although not all old handhelds given this update --> depends on the related vendor for Android and Apple product based on hardware spec/ generation (CMIIW)

Hopefully this time Microsoft will change their policy about providing upgrade for their upcoming software version

Whats not to like? Sure its no Android and yea its no IOS, but does it need to be? the only thing that makes these systems so popular is the fashion in owning one before the other guy. Windows and Nokia together are perfect, combining one of the worlds best operating systems with one of the most simplistic easy to use phone brands on the market how can it really fail? Open your mind people try something new this phone will be a hot seller world wide.

It's obvious that Nokia is going from the dark to darker.
There's no doubt that Stephen Elop is one of the failest CEO in the mobile division history.
1.4 billion dollars is ahuge number of loss and he says that salesmen are the reason.
And now the sales of Lumia series meets only half the expectations.
Some rumers say that he is bribed from Microsoft to decrease the value of the company so it can buy Nokia at the least price.
And it looks like Microsoft is enjoying the situation by limiting the capabilities of WP and not developing it seriously, so it can buy it sooner.
It's really sad to see ahuge company like Nokia in that situation.
Sometimes I wonder what would happened if Nokia merged Belle with Meamo 5 with Harmatten??

I think you people shouldnt compare this windows phone with others android phone. As microsoft and apple is high end os. They have their own style on matching phone to their os. even they have lower spec as compare to android phone, but they may have better perfomance than others. For example, iphone 4s actually clocked at dual core 800 mhz can easily beat any android phone even with dual core 1.5ghz. So, it's the same thing for windows phone. If you really want compare, you suppose to compare with windows phone like htc titans. They even have lossy resolution, no card slot as well.

btw, i'm using samsung s2 android phone. So im not bias to nokia. =)
