Nokia haven't succeeded. They may have come up with some annotative ideas .Regardless of my opinion, there are many more similar opinions in this section that would also back up my view, whether we are the minority or not, even GSM arena itself has listed the negatives in a list on one of it's reviews of the phone. I personally found the phone lacking in some areas, that I had been familiar with on other handsets. I'm sure if Nokia take into account all feedback from owners they may remedy the shortfalls in the future, and if they do I won't hesitate to buy another Lumia 920.I haven't warned people from NOT buying one of these phones...you have taken my opinion out of context and you seem to be spoiling for an argument?
Do you actually own one of these phones?
I'm sure the reader and buyer will make up their own minds when buying. As for the owner being exhilarated....I think your going a little over the top on that one. It's an expensive mobile phone at the end of the day, that has good points and bad.

All these people who buy iPhones are satisfied with the very limited OS (in your view, I assume) and they are practically the majority. So when you warn people, try to make it less personal and opinionated and consider the needs of the majority.

The device is NOT AT ALL over-hyped for the needs of the majority; they would find it exhilarating. I am just saying your review of the device might appeal only to the very small minority of more technical users who thrive on playing and extremely customizing the device they own.

Except the device supports bluetooth file transfers, supports SD cards, mass storage mode, has a better display, a LOT better low-light photography, better video recording, much better sound recording (HAAC Rich Recording), NFC, wireless charging, better touch input, better social network integration, better messaging, and a more coherent OS compared to Android.

Perhaps it strikes you as "boring" because you can't lose yourself in menus after menus of settings maze, custom launchers, rooting, a la Android.

Let's just say it wasn't your cup of tea, and leave it at that.

Lot of media publicity, hype and anticipation.Eventually I bought one when they came out. Spent money (£40) on getting it unlocked to the network I am on. I have to say after using it for 3 weeks I find the Lumia 920 boring and limited to what you can do with it compared to a Samsung Galaxy Note for example. The lumia's app range is small/ limited compared to other smartphones, and apps are expensive, many useless free apps aren't worth bothering with.It struggles to play all 'media movie files', there is NO file manager to browse and delete files from with in the phones directory.Connecting to a APPLE MACBOOK for example is difficult, although there is a Itunes App store app, but you have MAC OS X10.7 installed, which is pretty basic. Alternatively you can connect the phone in windows and it appears as a USB drive which is good.I believe you cannot hack or put custom roms on the Windows Lumia range operating system, so your stuck with what you get when you take it out of the box from the start. No 3rd party app store programs either, like the Samsungs 'Blackmart or Panda'. Also you have to download all the apps from the Nokia store. The camera is good, but not that good, nokia maps is good. You can't personalize the main menu screen, its big or small tiles only! There are many downsides to this phone and for the price tag I would have expected a lot more for my money. A shame because the phone feels a quality build when it's in your hand too! Having previously owned the Lumia 800, I would say there isn't a lot of difference between the 2 phones. I look forward to selling it, I'm not impressed with it.

I've had my Lumia 920 for a week now. I love it! The best phone I've ever owned by far!! Far, far, far superior to Apple iphone 5. The pictures are absolutely stunning, and the design and user interface excellent! No complaints whatsoever!

I guess the day is not far , where you will have option to purchase a device and then choose your mobile OS you like and you will be able to do so ...

hope some companies like HTC and Samsung would have already started working on this as they have both android and Windows Phone in the market .

About nokia , its difficult to say ....

There is a major drawback in Android as well as iOS when it comes to downloading files from websites like rapidshare, mediafire, etc. On android we can use opera but even then it doesnt always works fine.

Considering that windows mobile uses the windows os is it easy to download files on windows mobile or is it not possible.

But 920 deserves every present mobile to be thrown to be taken in its place.
