Josef, 22 Jan 2013Got the 920 one week ago. Amazing phone and I like it very ... more12hrs, same with me, at first. Now I got 24hrs with everything on: 3G, wifi, celular data, bt, nfc, light theme, background apps and sound. No battery saving. Strangely, I think 3G and sound is the main battery hog, and others not so.

What I've been doing: train the battery. Turn off 3G, data, bt, nfc, sound. The complete drain until turn off. Do a full charge, then keep in plugged for mour hours (say, 10hrs or so) then use as usual. Repeat the cycle for 2 more times, then start turning on bt, nfc, wifi.

Mine hold for approx 36hrs at this. Then I start turning on 3G and sound and it shrunk to 24hrs, which is ok.

I bought this piece to have all the glory and not to skimp the features so I'm glad now I turn everything on and still get away with one full day.

    Good luck.

hmmm first of all, my first impression with this phone, when i saw its advertisement???? Ohh another window cr@p from nokia, hell no it cant compete with my htc at all neither it can compete with my brothers note 2. Limited apps games,, windows is confusing, another gimmick frm nokia after elope took over, battery will suck, phone is heavy, whh the hell v need wireless charger and the list goes on... But its been 10 days and m goin to steal it from my brother( just kiddin, hehe),, first of all windows 8 is refreshing, very fast fluid and lagfree i this lumia( no idea bout 820 but yeeh m sure for this), the handset might feel little heavy if u own a galaxy (it seems plastic to me now, cheapstuff as even micromax can give the same quality at very lower rates), but after 2-3 days u wont feel its a burden as then its negligible and even a 100 yr old can carry this handset wholeday, the body is stupendiously awesu with all that polycarbonate and charming eyecandy color( yellow isreally a eye catching one m in love),the handset can b operated with one hand, just give 2 days and you will get used to the phone without any complaints..about the call quality, its crisp as h.d and no issues with signals, thebattery life is near to note2 but little less. If somebody facing any atterh issues then u need to change settings and when i direct sunlight your phone wont eat too much of battery juice, i easily spent one dah with 2-3 hours of browsing(in 3g), 2 hours of 3g call, a few hour of hd games and still had juice left to go till next day early morning but i would hve been more happier if the batterh was like razor maxx or better then my note 2. Anyways about the apps the store has some good to offer and i m keeping an eye in daily new addition, but like android and ios they are moreover paid. But a gud collection of games and apps. Watching a movies i the screen gives u goose bumps with fluid and smoothness and i felt like galaxy s2 and my htc blushing with embarrasement in bushes....( but still 5.5 screen is always most welcome for most of us but 920 wont ever let u down witn its 4.4 screen, i wish ifit cud b 5 there isnt any need of galaxy note2 as well), theplus point is u can carry this in one hand like htc or sony which is tough with note2( many a times frustrating)..im an avid android lover but this handset just brainwashed me and im hoping to buy one for myself next month, but will also keep my htc for sure... Iam simply blown away from the phone,, the only issue i faced tilldate was lack of a gud default camera app(like my htc) but we have app in store for that as well and some apps updating itself ( please buy a a plan for all that browsing and 3g otherwise dont curse windows and

I "hate" Microsoft more than I like Nokia, and I will never ever buy any WP8 phone or any Windows 8 tablet...! I liked Nokia Symbians, and I like my N9, but WP8 totally sucks, and I think the Metro-UI is so ugly that it actually hurts my eyes!

I am using the Lumia 920 since it launched in November in US and am loving it. It is great in every department, be it scree, camera, battery, apps. And as I also have a Note 2 and an iPhone 4S. But which phone do I use the most these days? It is the Lumia 920. Once you start using it can't get your hands off it. I swear by this.

                  I totally agree with this:
If you ask us, Windows Phone 8 does a lot of things right, but it just lacks the wow-factor. The Live Tiles, although not really bad, aren't something incredible, and actually look like downgraded widgets. As a matter of fact, they are not only much simpler, but often lack the functionality found with some of Android's widgets, for example. You can't turn on and off various settings with a Live Tile, you cannot read the latest news and you can't get a nice preview of the new content that's just made its way into the application store.

One of the best ways to hide a weakness is to present it as a great strength

Just see what Microsoft is doing: the Windows Phone platform is very weak when it comes to personalization options. You can't even assign a wallpaper! So, what Microsoft attempts to do is to convince us just how greatly personalizable WP is. "It's not a phone for all of us, but a phone for each of us!" says Microsoft's marketing message. "This is Jessica's Windows Phone; and this here is Steve's Windows Phone." If you've watched a WP presentation, you'd know that Microsoft desperately tries to convince us that WP doesn't have the slightest problem in terms of personalization... in fact, it's great for personalization! Of course, that is all bollocks - customizing the arrangement of the Live Tiles might be OK as far as making your important people more visible, but when it comes to reflecting your personal lifestyle, or being flexible, or tweaking the visuals to make them more pleasing for you, the Live Tile paradigm is helpless.

Is there an app or update that would enable me to select only 3g, just like in n8? My nokia n8 detects 3.5g but my lumia 920 can only use edge.i read in some forums that it is because edge signal is stronger than 3g in some situations. how do i get portico update?

saam K, 24 Jan 2013How is the baterry back up guys? i am looking to buy this 9... moreMy battery back up is actually pretty good. And I haven't got the Portico update yet. But that will probably depend of how to use the phone. First day when I played with my phone all day long, I had to recharge it again the next day. But now I can manage to recharge the phone only once in 2 or maybe even 3 days. Still the battery has to finish some more cycles of recharging to become fully optimal.
