I like Symbian too, battery last forever. My 5800 would go 3 days without charge. Now I have beautiful N9, but miss Symbian voice dialing, otherwise Meego is great! If Lumia is near N9 in build quality, it will be great phone. We will see how good WP really is.

Look back when iOS was not launched. It was a Symbian, WebOS, blackberry OS, Java etc... and the word "multitasking" was never marketed or made a selling point, because it was understood... yes if it is symbian, multitasking is a must, so why mention.... it all started when iOS launched with no multitasking... then in next version they added it limited and started shouting like babies... oooo we have multitasking multitasking multitasking.... even today iOS is not FULLY multitasking OS but Apple has created hype and everyone is shouting multitasking. Otherwise it was not a worth mentioning feature of symbian because symbian was built to multitask on the first place. While Nokia is not able to keep Symbian up, I still miss it.

HiT, 25 Sep 2012Well... you know what is the most interesting part?? Loo... moreSame, I really miss Symbian too, but I also understand why it wasnt and wouldnt be a success. I feel that even the best Androids havnt reached the level of features the (sure, new components and certain new innovations present and better performance) best Symbian phones have had.

Ive looked for a replacement for my N8 for a long time, but I've just accepted there is not a single other phone out there that could do everything it could, so I gave up :D

Sold my S2 and bought the 808 pureview , Now can't decide should i sell the 808 for lumia or not ., the 808 is a real phone with strong battery the symbian OS although it lacks some candy feature as android but its better and fast and battery friendly the S2 beside my 808 is a little toy..,
So anyone knows the Windows8 OS is comparable to symbian belle fp2 in features battery performance ...etc ? don't wanna go back to stupid battery eating OS for some stupid games and apps

You are right about Symbian being able to handle many apps without slowing down. Somebody on a particular review site said they had ran 19 apps simultaneously on a Nokia E71 and it NEVER slowed down. I love Nokia on a whole and I love Symbian a whole lot.

One thing I like about Symbian is that once an app is open by going to menu you instantly know that an app is open due to the circle beside the folder. With Android there's no indication to know that an app is open just by going to the menu and even when you hold down the home button on Android it shows you recent apps as well as the currently running ones. That's why Symbian is a true smartphone OS.
