Ameen Mongam, 11 Sep 2012Then you compare with Xperia V.. It is 4G, Water and dust p... moreFrom the comparison, Nokia Lumia 920 is clearly the winner..
Display: Lumia 920's screen is superior to every other smatphone screen, Xperia V doesn't come even close...
Memory: Xperia V has a slight advantage (8GB internal + 32GB memory card) vs 32GB, but Lumia has USB on the go and Xperia doesn't so this solves the low storage problem of Nokia Lumia 920.
Camera: Lumia 920 despite the fact that has a 8MP camera and not 13MP has the same sensor size with Xperia V, OIS, bright aperture, algorithms and Carl Zeiss lenses make the difference and give Nokia an advantage, even thought Xperia V's camera is great too... Videos: Nokia Lumia 920 has a clear advantage due to OIS and superior audio recording.
OS: WP8 is a complete and growing OS, Android is a good OS too, so this is based on personal preference...
Design: Nokia gets an easy win here.
Battery: Lumia 920 gets an easy win here too... 2000mAh vs 1750mAh and Android consumes more battery than WP8.
Music play: Both are good, but Dolby headphone enhancement really makes a difference.
Other features: Xperia V is dust and water resistant. a cool feature, it has Java and FM radio (which you can buy for 5$ if you really need it), Nokia Lumia 920 has wireless charging and document editor...
So, overall Nokia Lumia 920 is superior to Sony Xperia V, but I think its price will be higher too...

        One should be crazy to buy this smart phone weighting 185 g !! just for reference iphone 4 - 140g, Galaxy s2 - 116g, Galaxy S3- 134g

all these 3 super phones have better software and hardware than Lumia 920> Even are cheaper :)))

          And...I'll repost!

I think Lumia 920 will sell in good numbers and it should!
However, i doubt it would kill the android/iOS. Also, calling wp8 crap or Lumia a dead phone is also quite baseless!
I think Nokia and WP would be a happy lot if they could be @10% market share by the end of 2013.

          What goes with the Lumia:-
Amazing n different design (mostly people like it) - Now people can argue it looks like the n9 or lumia800 but guys think about it ... Lumia is still not a very popular phone and one of its positives has been the looks so why fiddle with it? (I can hardly see any difference in the looks of the s3 n note2...also if the leaks are correct new iphone looks ... meh!)

Signal strength, built quality of Nokia - Now the phone has not yet been released but this assumption is purely based on the past of Nokia. If i were to buy an android, i'd rather buy an HTC/Moto than samsung.
          Chk this out
          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIJTpJN5Fro

Better Battery - Though people can argue that AtivS has a bigger battery but my observation has been that Nokia batteries generally perform better and are long lasting. Its just not about the mAH reading but how to use it. (Ever seen two 1.5L engines producing different power/torque outputs coz of better use of technology). However, again this is an assumption and the real results would only be known when the phone is launched.

Not getting in the other details like the amazing screen, camera etc.

          What goes against it:
Hmm.. no memory card slot - Well can be very important for many people but even the iphone was launched with a 16GB? version..This has 32GB + 7GB free on skydrive. For most of the users it should be enough.

Dual Core n 1GB Ram - Sadly people look more at numbers that the real performance. Lumia 800 was excellent when I used it on single core and 512mb ram. Its not a computer!

Less Apps - Agreed. But earlier due to the lack of multiple core support it was a major problem but now it should not be. Also, again number wise market place
has much less app but i think what matters is the number if USEFUL apps.

WP8- Most people seem to hate it for n number of reasons. What I loved about WP8 specially was the integration of social media in it. No need for an app. Check this out
          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5csF4bTAqU

Its a different OS with different capabilities!

Having said all of this, a lot depends on how the phone actually performs when its launched.

Also, it pretty hypocritical when people bad mouth WP8 for less options and crib when nokia offers the phone in different colors!
If you don't like a color don't buy it but speak for yourself only. By posting Statemnts like "Who would want that yellow color" you only make a fool out of yourself.
I for one would buy that color in absence of the Blue.

Also, its pretty sad reading comments like all wp8 has is a copy of android features. I think its called evolution. You learn, improve, implement. There are many features that age old mobiles have had which android also has. Its BS to call it a copy.

Last but not the least, GSM arena is a great forum and people actually visit this to get help in deciding what to buy. Let's make valid comments so that it would further improve the quality of this forum!

At the end of the day people would buy what they like but why say no to having more choice?

I am almost certain to buy a 920 unless there is something really wrong with the phone or the price is outrageous!

jamir, 11 Sep 2012time to say goodbye to very crappy, non sense and the most ... moreAndroid will be forgotten? No man, this will not happen anytime soon, maybe in 2014. Now Android is the strongest, and MOST famous OS, Google it if you want. WP8 needs time to grow strong. When Android was introduced, it was a little OS, and in 2,3 years became a giant. We will see the sales of this phone, because it will tell some things about the OS' future.

AnonD-53384, 11 Sep 2012They Should have added a quad-cor processor. I would have g... moreWP is fast (not like Android which is slow), so the Lumia doesn't need a quadcore to run it smoothly. And also, a dualcore is less battery consumer than the quadcore. Also the frequency is higher 1.5GHz(dual) than 1.4GHz(quad). It's the best choice for a phone. Don't be fooled by the specs, it's more a matter of how the operating system run on them. And that's a fail for my GS2(which started crashing all the time) and a win for my single core lumia 800(which run smoothly).

The new Lumia's arnt going to kill iPhones or Android, that's just a ridicilous idea (no phone will). However it might give them a good competition, let's hope for that!

Nokia Lumia 920 is the best phone of 2012. iPhone 5 has better not to be only larger than 4s.

time to say goodbye to very crappy, non sense and the most worst android OS also goodbye to copycat Samsung. Now that Nokia is doing anything today to gain its crown, I dont think that there's a reason for people to still using an android OS. Android will soon be forgotten and Windows Phone 8 will take its place. Nokia you're the best forever in build quality of a phone unlike those plastic expensive phone yuckkk. Its Nokia's turn Samsung bye bye. Time to switch to Lumia
