Hi there, my only advice to you since applications seems important to you is to go to windows phone store site and check if all the apps you need is there plus if the shortcomings of the OS doesn't bother you then go for it. But to be honest WP OS seems or still half baked. I suggest go to a nearest store and play with the device first because in the end of the day, you don't want to be frustrated and disappointed with this device once you bought it after a couple of weeks.

Hello everyone, please give me some idea about the (quality of apps) on windows. I am an apple user since beginning, iph4,4s,5. Since 3yrs have heavily invested in apple ecosystem as I also have a iPad . But now apple is becoming more expensive yr by yr. specially here in India. Now thinking to shift to a different ecosystem as I know android has a comparable App Store with them but it's not that smooth OS as iOS. Windows OS still is smooth in compared with iOS but I know that apps like FB are made by Microsoft so they are not as good as in android & iOS. And many famous apps still not available in windows eg. Flipboard etc. Please windows phone user give some of your experience of quality of apps on windows. The person who has used both platform iOS & windows can give me better knowledge. Thank you.

I have a lumia 920 ive been using it for months now i love this phone becsuse of its camera and some other useful features am just quite upset about its limitation though hoping for more apps and games to become available at the marketplace just like what android users can get from the playstore
also i have observed that whenever the high contrast feature is on the battery last longer also turn off unecessary apps open in the background:)

Go to settings -> about phone -> more information. if it shows os number: 8.0.10328.78 it's the latest upgrade of amber (yea amber has an upgrade as well). if not, connect to wifi it automatically detects updates when wifi is connected

On 12th november 2013 i bought nokia lumia 920 white colour after half an hour of use lines are came on display & after few time whole diplay got blur .... On 13th november 2013 i had returned that phone , now i m back to nokia E90

Nokia Lumia 920 nor devices with WP 8.0 might not get WP 8.1 update after all but I'm sure Lumia 1520 will. http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9243661/Windows_Phone_8.0_smartphones_may_not_be_upgradeable_to_8.1

this phone is a waste of time ,I bought this phone less than a year now and it keep shutting of ,even when the battery is fully charge.
