Well, the design is ok & weight is alright for a female user (me is a female). However, the there's quite a couple of software issues like phone start to hang when 2 calls hit at the sametime and the back-cover for the camera, well they got lose and no responding very well when you are ready to take a picture. Btw, I have merely used it for 6 mths & updated/upgraded the firmware twice..if you ask me, I am not going for a 3rd update as I have to redo the settings all over again. Quite annoying.

Truly, the N70 would be a global fighter if Only Nokia was to get its software issues sorted out. Ive been using this phone for the past 7 months down here in Australia, and have been expereincing a lot of software related issues. First of all, I must commend Nokia, for producing a good hardware package.. The Camera is quite good, the sound is loud and clear and the keys are quite easily accessible.
I must agree with most people in the opinions columns, with regard to the software issues.. If u customize, your ringtones, the wallpaper and all that, the N70 will get stuck.. I called up their technicians and they instructed me to reset the default settings.. Not that Im complaining.. But the Standard Nokia Ringtone really doesnt cut it for me..
Ive also noticed when My phone is on standby mode, It sort of restarts.. The Screen Blinks, and the startup video appears.. and then the phone return back to its standby mode.
All in All, Im happy with the Fone.. I really dont use the Phone for Video Calling that much.. But the battery life is alrite for a Phone which kinda acts like my camera and my mp3 playa..

People are so sick who go for such high end mobiles , spend so much money , just for camera , watching videos , listening music and playing mere games . I presumely think guys of young age should instead go for PSP(Play Station Portable - Sony product) . Man!! it's got all the features from playin videos to listening songs or view photos and play ultimate heart throbing games best part is that it has got 4.3" screen as compared to 2" of other smartphones and 16.77 million colours as compared to 262k of them and obviously the best sound u can have .That all u can get in mere 200$ (rs 11,200 in india). I have another concern, sometimes.. my ringing tone is set to my prefered tone.. however, when someone calls me.. the standard nokia tone is selected.. even if I set a particualr to to a particular person..
what i do is reboot the phone.. and viola.. the tone I set is played.. then after a while.. the same things happen... any ideas?

my firmware is v.3.0546.2.3
and i would like to apgrade to the new firmware. I was told that once the phone is flashed, my phone will be restored to factory settings.. thats no big deal since all my applications are saved in my memory card. my biggest concern is what about my contacts, if they would be deleted, how could I restor them, is is possible to save it to my memry card as well?

The latest version of software is V5.0609.2.0.1 and since I have loaded it the phone is top class. It is one of the nicest and best phones I have ever had. The phone cannot be used as a webcam so you people out there, go and buy yourself one.
The only slow bit is like other users mentioned the opening of the gallery and the ringtones list otherwise the phone performs flawlessly.
Keep on going strong Nokia, as a fan I am still proud to sport the handshake mobile.

You can use the Psiloc software ( extended recording).. as for the screensave you can change it from themes/options/edit.. but you can only change it from date and time to text.. if you want a real screensaver .. then go for third part applications.

I have had the N70 for four months now. It has been working flawlessly. I am surprised when some people say it is slow. In fact, it is the fastest nokia I have used so far. I recommend if someone encounters that problem, they should upgrade the firmware virsion. Only occasionly do I encounter some delay when opening the Gallary application. Otherwise, the thing is as fast as whistle.
The big ram enables you to open many applications without complaining about speed or hanging. The screen is very nice and bright. Video recording is flawless. the best I have ever seen by a mobile phone. sound quality is very remarkable. I really enjoy mp3s on this mobile, whether using the earphones or the speaker. Battery life is very reasonable. If you use it as a phone, it will last two and a half to three days. If you use the other functions extensively, it will last for a day. i recommend the freeware FExplorer, for a file explorer. and Qreader for opening text files , if you like reading on your mobile. To sum up, N70 is a unique experience.

Hi, I encounter 2 problems and I hope someone out there can help me with it.
1) Recorder - The voice recorder function only records for 1 min. Can anyone tell me if there is any settings to increase the recording time or about any thrid party software suitable for N70?
2) My N70 has a screensaver builtin, but cannot change it. Can someone tell me how can I change this screensaver?

Check u dont have same usb port use by usb-wlan stick or something else what reserve that port always at every time u boot...
If ur got old pc suite like 6600 in u machine remove that there,also all files from
programfiles root and all regkeys by using regedit,then install pc suite 4 n70.Also try english version of pc-suite and u home language pc suite if that works...
Just get latest pc suite from nokia and also check that u have all u pc latest driver and it should be work at fine and yes please use same usb port every time.And finaly sometimes its not just work,some pc's dont like work together whit pc-suite....

I am having a little bit problem with my n70 it doesnt ring and vibrate at the same time.so i am only using the vibration from my profiles.If anyone out there can tell me what to do it will be very nice.Thanks bye
