Ive read some of these peoples comments and im vexed at the fact that people spend loads of cash on a smartphone and they dont read the damn manual! what is that all about? one geezar earlier wrote in saying that you have to copy numbers individually if you want to transfer them from sim to phone or vise versa. What is he on about? That is what the marking function is for! Mark all the files then copy them. Simple if he read the manual. word of advice before you come online cursing the phone, read the manual. phones these days are to complicated to switch on and use, especially if you are not phone illiterate. if you want an easy switch on and use phone, then a smartphone is the wrong phone to buy.

well - I like the N70. It can be switched on and used without a simcard (offline) & transfer all your nos, pictures, sounds an all from the old phone within 1 min.

I find the keypad easy to use and so far the photos I took are all usable once I transfered them to my pc.

I've experienced none of the problems mentioned below - but - then again I read the manual.

So far I'm quite happy with my 2nd choice of the N70 (I of course really wanted the N92).

All I need now is for all my friend to buy a video phone so that I can actually make a video phone call. Hmmmmm ;-)

The N70 top Phone. Upgrade software and got rid of my networks badging. The phone has pick up speed scince the upgrade. I did the same with my Nokia 6230i and has improved the software speed as well. I suppose I am lucky I unlock mobile phones and do software issues for a living. Also the Symbian Reset or Format the phone by pressing *#7370# on the phone and security code. This will clean most bugs on a Symbian Mobile but be warned that this will delete everything including contacts.

I got my N70 two days before. I am happy about how its look and feel. The screen is not as bad as mentioned in some reviews.

The problems so far i have seen are:

Phone is very slow. Sometimes it is very annoying
The keypad is small and cant message for long.
Dictionary Cant be switched off on the fly as you type a message (It has to be turned on from the main menu)
Speaker quality is not good. Lot of noise especially in loudspeaker mode. My 6610 earlier was lovely.
To see missed calls you have to go to Menu->Myown->logs which is a pain. Have to see if i can create shortuts. I have not read much of the manual yet. But the thing is i never had to read manuals for my earlier phones.

                But still I like N70.

This N70 phone runs the worst piece of software that I have seen in long time.
But let's be factual, and not emotional; here are the facts:
1 - I got the phone delivered to me by Orange Switzerland, I arrived home and ... it didn't ring... To get the rings activated you have to go to a Nokia site, do some searching around and you will find that a patch is required for getting the phone to ring. Great feature for a mobile phone.

2 - tried to transfer the contacts from the SIM card to the internal memory. You can only do this in one operation when you install the SIM card the very first time, if you cancel this option at that time, after that you can only copy one entry at a time

3 - You can reassign the function of the quick button on the top right of the keyboard(which come configured as "tutorial" to some other function, but again, this works only once, after that there is no way to reassign that button to any other function

4 - booting my phone (from power off) takes more than 30 seconds !

5 - the activation of most commands is slow, so slow that you tend to hit the keyboard twice and go #$^%@$#

6 - the configuration menu is illogical and confused

7 - Several other bugs in displaying movies

Finally the keyboard is far too small (this is obviously not a software problem)

A recommendation: do not buy this phone until they come up with a much improved version of the Symbian crap they are running now.
For me, I went back to my previous Samsung D500.

@ at them: try to read the manual, it realy helps..
and if u arent happy with onboard features, install 3d party software, helps often too

I got this phone two weeks ago and, touch wood, its fantastic with no problems.
Any teething problems I've had have been my own fault for not reading the manual properly. I agree that the speakers aren't great but Im not using this as a speaker system. Its a phone that has lots of extras so its all looking good.
Ive got some updated software in terms of web browser and a couple of good games, apart from that can anyone recommend any 'must have' software ?

                                  Many Thanks
