HI Guys,

I just owned the phone for 1 month and now, it's residing in Nokia Care centre for 5 days of servicing.

Not sure if it's the software or wat? But the ringtone does not get preset as what was selected and it's really very slow. The phone also hang by itself.

So for those who are really thinking abt it.. do think 2x abt it. Now, i am considering changing to V3i

    Hey Sara!
I know how to lock the N70 using a security code.
To do it, you do these things.
Go to settings, security settings, phone and SIM, scroll down to Autolock period & change it (min. 1 min)(the lock code is the default security code 12345). You can change the lock code to anything you want its just the next setting after the autolock period.
After you have set the autolock period (for eg. 1 min), don't touch the phone for 1 minute and after that you have to enter the lock code to unlock the phone.
I really hope this helps Sara!!!!!!!!!
    Byez, byez,
Feel free to ask me any questions to this reply.

Again: you lock it and you open the shutter. while open, you CAN access the menu, in which case the phone unlocks. But if you close the shutter WITHOUT having accessed the menu, then the phone gets back to locked.

And another thing: you lock it, you open the shutter and: 1) if you close it, it gets back to locked 2) if you access any menu while the shutter is open, then it unlocks...

Yes, when locked with the simple way, opening the camera unlocks it and you have full access. There is no option for password protection, at least I haven't found one (and I've done a lot of searching). And just to make myself clear: the "Security" word in my previous messages refers to aLLeXiNho's question regarding a specific option in the Office application; it has nothing to do with keypad password protection...

                      Sara:

The Security button starts installing something. I don't know what it is, so I don't mess with it, but that goes only for security issues. I'm definitely in favor of experimenting as it's the only way of learning how to use your device, any device; I just feel uneasy installing something unknown regarding Security, see what I mean?

                              aLLeXiNho:

                              1) Minimizing log duration does improve performance, though the phone will never achieve light speed. Anyway, it's not that annoying, you'll soon get used to it.

                              2) As for the Security, I don't know much about it. Rule of thumb: never mess with anything you're not familiar with.

                              3) I tried the USB cable on a second laptop and it worked, too. So far, 2 laptops OK, 1 desktop pc NOT OK. Gonna try bluetooth on my desktop. Does anyboby know anything about USB cable compatibility problems???

hey toothhacker, my N70 is not ringing either! I thought it was because I downloaded lots of games but looks like the problem is more common. Anyway to fix?

actually the N80 is part of the N series which guess what?? is a MEDIA series not a buisiness series. E series is for buisiness. N80 has 3mpx camera with 20x zoom, wifi for broadband internet access, quadband, upnp technology and more, it's also smaller than the N70. It's a bit like an upgrade to n70

that is the best mobile which an average aged ungster likes to use , how ever its a business phone too.
