Yes, the joystick on this N73, hated it. Also, same with other phones, the cameras are vulnerable to dusts. I do not have the tools to open it up and clean them (cameras, front and back).

my joy stick came off, pretty hard to use now
good camera phone in general...............pain in the arse
especially if you buy from orange th softwar they put in causes it to be faulty

And 0FIk don't forget Nokia Forever! :P If you don't like the N73 buy a E51 or N95 or somthing you like.!
Personaly i find the N73 a great pone whit a lot of functions...a litle bit slow but All the Symbiant Pones are Slow!Put this litle program to your pone MemoryUp and you wil smile again!Chears!

i always liked nokia phones purely for the user friendly menu and some useful options in it, i have no patience and have terminated other non nokia phones with extreme predejuce, usually i throw them against a wall, and then remove the sim card from the wreckage and go back to my old phone, recently i bought a N73 and i have found that it is only my maturity and self control that is keeping this phone from an early and nasty end, may be its good for some, but for me i find it slow, you cant do lots of stuff that older phones could, they screwed up the "go to" menu (its all go to "downloads" and you cant edit the list so you could put the alarm clock at the top of the list for instance, and then bluetooth or useful things, if you want to personalise it beyond the meager choices on the phone its a "download" . can you set a screen saver ? you can "download" one alright! you cant turn of the welcome note, cant change the font size, cant do a lot of stuff as i keep finding out,it seems to have very limited options for everything, and its got a pop port for your data cable and earphones! i mean come on guys,did you ever hear of usb connections, you have it on one end (daw!!) now lets try the other end !and a jack for the ear phones,this technology has been used since before the (walkman) talk about awkward and designed to break and the lanyard headphones, ( you are lucky there is no cursing allowed) the only good thing is the camera but when you go to check out your shots its slow and the first thing that pops up on the screen is ""download, click to download a video"" stop it please !!! i hate this phone!!! as soon as the second generation i phone is out i will never darken nokias door step again, oh yes its not mac compatible either, i paid €250.00 for it on the 19th of may 2008, will accept €100.00 now to get it off my hands, or else it will go the way of the wall, no i take it back, i am going to put it into a vice and turn the handle til the lights go out . rant over, back to the 6300 for the moment.

Hi frnds, I've some family snaps in one of the albums in gallery. Can I put those personal photos in a seperate folder (in file manager) so that it is kept unaccessable from gallery. If any body knows, plz advice.Thankyou

There is an option in Device Manager which is called FOTA (Firmware Over The Air).
Is this feature useful?
Has anybody upgraded his phone with this feature?
How i can use this feature(i mean,should i have to change anything in Settings of Device Manager)?
Please somebody answer me.

There is nothin wrong wit ya phone. Thing is all nokia symbian phones lack memory(RAM). All my friends use symbian phone & we all complain about RAM. Sumhow nokia thinks dat a low amount of RAM is enof 2 run da phone, which is quite true, but it wont b enof if u run multiple applications. I also use N73. Let me explain a bit. The RAM in ur symbian phone runs da same was as da RAM in ur computer, meaning da more RAM u have, da more applications u can run at once. normally wen u startup ur phone u shud hav atleast 20-24mb free RAM(the other 20mb is already being occupied by ya phones system files/applications), or about 16-18mb if u hav auto-startin applications, which start weneva u switch ya phone on, Example: autolock, antivirus, wallpaper, screensaver, etc. Now wen u start using ur phone ur RAM decreases as well dependin on applications in use. Now unlike Sis/Sisx files, Jar files consume lots of memory, especialy games. A jar game file dat is more than 500kb in size can easily consume more than 10mb of RAM wen u play it. Also jar files need atleast 3mb of RAM jus 2 open them. Now the reason why RAM runs out as ur uptime increases(total time ur phone is 'on' at one time) is simply because there r sum applications dat do not close down wen u exit them. Example: music player, contacts, log info. Instead they are kept open in da background 4 quick access wen u need them again. Now here is a nice application/tool dat u can use 2 check how much RAM u usin or left wit & also wat applications r openly running or running in the background. Its called HANDY TASKMAN. U can get this application at WAPAIN.NET. it works jus like da task manager in ur phone, but this has more enhanced features. (To open task manager just hold down da 'menu' button for a few seconds til a window appears.)

my phone theme keeps reverting back to the standard nokia theme without prompting to do so..anyone know why this is happening/how to fix this?

week points:
1/short battery life time
2/the camera stops working suddenly with touching the back!
3/the amount of delay time(hanging) goes up as the phone life time goes up!

Hi Vladi,
U hv 2 options. 1) You can Lock yr keypad manually by pressing Left Menu Key + [*] Key. 2) If you need to lock keys automatically, then you will have to give a lockcode and autolock period to lock the keys automatically. For this option -> Go to Tools -> Settings -> Security -> Phone and SIM -> Select the Autolock period and give a Lock code. Default code is 12345.
