To switch off blue blinking light, go to Settings > Phone settings > Display, turn off sleep mode.
N73 tips
Go register an account at

to create personalised themes, or download readily available themes created by other people.
To get Youtube videos onto N73, download flv player from download.com, and super converter at
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html#Dnload.
then find your desired youtube video. After FULLY loading the video, copy paste the url on http://keepvid.com/, choose "youtube". Download link appears, right click, save as. use super converter to convert to 3gp format. BINGO! you are done.
In standby-mode, press and hold 0 to launch your wap home page.
While writing text press and hold "#" to switch between Alpha mode and Number mode. You can also press a key long to insert its number.
If you have your keylock activated just press the on/off button to turn on your backlight to look at the time when it's dark without having to unlock the keypad.
To check your current firmware version simply type *#0000# in standby screen.
To check your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) type *#06# in standby screen.
To check your Bluetooth device address type *#2820# in standby screen.
In standby-mode, press and hold # to toggle between general and silent profiles
In standby-mode, press and hold right soft key to launch music player.
At the top of the main-menu and every folder, the keys 1 to 9 are shortcuts to the icons 1-9
In Settings > Phone settings > General, edit your start up welcome note / image
In Settings > Phone settings > Standby, edit your left and right selection keys for faster access
In Settings > Phone settings > Active standby appz, edit your shortcuts that shows on the main screen.
To auto lock keypad, press and release the ON button of the handphone ONCE, and choose “Lock Keypad”
N73 cannot set full screen wallpapers or animated gif wallpapers, but you can adjust image sizes accordingly ( eg: 440 x 480, or 240 x 320 ) to fit screen as much as possible.
To select all items, such as when clearing / deleting all messages in sent items folder, go to “Mark/Unmark”, select “Mark all”.
Create new profile, rename it as anything you want, and it will appear on the top of the main screen.
After installation of any games / applications, go Tools > File Manager > Installed files, and clear away the items ( if any ).
If certain games / applications cannot be uninstalled, try removing them in Tools > Application Manager
Switch off Bluetooth when not in use to prevent “blue-jacking”, or hacking of mobiles.

1 things i would like to complain is that music edition shold have 1 basic function that is shuffle my music... i cant shuffle my music in my n73 ME ... so disappointed... my SE can organise music folder in the computer and shuffle music ... i cant do it in this phones....

I'm not going to trust N73 or their service.My 1st N73 was not working & switching off very frequently.Later n a week time I have changed the handset.then the hands free wasn't work.I have given to Carphone house in Colliers wood who is authorised service center for Nokia.They tried 5 times(Nearly more than 7 weeks they took to tell me that they cann't repair the phone) to repair.Nothing happen.Wheather Carphone ware hasn't got efficient engineer or Nokia couldn't rectify the problem.I'm tired.Don't trust N series you may end up with problem.

i have had it a week and today it has started to show the answer phone logo and i cant get rid even though i have no message. anyone any ideas? orange not sorted it sadly.please help!! cheers.

Main problem with my N73 ME is Flashlight remains on even if i turn OFF flashlight in settings.Is this a problem?Am i the one who faces this same problem?
Any Geeks out there pl explain me the reason...

i just bought an n73 but what i have learn is that this phone always hang-up not like my previous phone SE k800i which runs very fast with no hang-ups.

Just found this web site - very informative - I have had a n73 for about 6 months, great phone but what is the blue light that flashes all the time and can it be switched off? Sorry if this has already been asked but 282 pages is an awfull lot to troll through.

for all persons who experience problems, update your firmware.
for those who've done this, their phones work 100% now than with the older firmware.
if you need detailed instructions, email me and i'll be happy to assist.
also, not all software you put onto the phones correspond with each other. just like your pc, too much junk n its gonna crash. try to just install necessary programs.
for those with branded phones that say the phones give problems, its nothing to do with the phone but with the provider software.
