Thanks PFM7 was looking for this for a long time and it was a standard function of Motorola which is my last phone, GONG XI FA CAI to you. Was lazy and hoping you could give me axact location. Why don't disclose your name.

Its been a long time, Yes I've updated my firmware to the latest (same reference as yours in France) 2/3 days ago. All seems the same, unforunately, my radio volume has become softer again. It was fixed @ the second update, don't know why. I'm still using the F-secure anti virus but with no more updates. Just wondering if all the negative feedbacks could be the works of virus ?

    TUTORIAL: How to turn ur N73 into N73 Music Edition

    This is what we do, step by step:

    Firstly, remember to buck up ur data from the phone to the Memory card like that: Tools/memory card/options/backup phone mem.


    Steps:
    1. Download that software tool NSS from here : click here to go to the NSS downloading page
    Code:

    2. Extract the tool from the archive and install it.

    3. Connect ur N73 to the PC via data cable.

    4. Now open NSS tool, in the upper right corner there is an icon in a shape of "magnifier", press it to find ur attached device. In the upper left corner is a button "Info", press it to find out ur phone firmware code. It should be somethin like 0538........

    5. Now instead of the existing code write some of the follows:
    0537289 Euro 1
    0539193 France
    0539207 Alps
    0539239 Euro 2
    0539256 Turkey
    0539265 South Africa
    0539269 Scandanavia
    0539278 Baltains
    0539279 Russia
    0539284 Ukraine
    0539285 Bulgaria

    6. After u enter the desired code in the "Product code" field press the "Write" button below. That's it for now - exit the NSS tool software.



    The first part of the update is done,guys, now follow the second....

    1. Without disconnecting ur phone from the PC, go here to download Nokia Software Updater: click here to go to the NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER PAGE

    2. Install it on ur PC and run it.

    3. Follow the steps on NSU. That's all!

    REMEMBER:

    1. youR phONE SHOULD NOT BE IN OFFLINE MODE (ACCORDING TO ME SILENT MODE IS THE BEST WHILE DOING THIS SO NOONE DISTURBS U AS THE VIBRATION CAN DISCONNECT UR FONE )

    2. THE NEW FIRMWARE COULD BE ABOVE 70-76 MB AND UR PHONE SHOULD NOT BE DISCONNECTED AT ANY TIME IN THE PROCESS (COZ IT MAY COMPLETELY RUINE UR FONE)

    3. ITS NOT RISKY (WORKED OUT REALLY WELL IN MY N73)


    In the end u should have a brand new N73 Music Edition with new Music Player and 2-3 new themes

    Now get ur phone data from the backed up file on MMC like that: Tools/Memory Card/Options/Restore from card.

        hi NiR,
        I dont know why it happend, I have window Xp prof. And I dont have any Service pack as Nokia asked for upgrading the fone. Better not to touch the fone when it is upgrading,full battery charged,and better is higher internet speed.I have 1056 Kbps and it took total 20-22 minutes to upgrade. Tray agian and keep ur fone aside and dont even even touch it, just wait till the computer gives the msg that ur has been updated succesfully....thanx

          Sorry for late reply, U must have the NSS prog for changing the code....At present I dont have the web address. I can post it tmrw from my office...they have diff code, u can change ur fone to n73ME also by changing the code.If u just want to upgrade ur n73 the code is 0539297.....thanx

            hi all....
            sorry 4 my Q... my product code is not listed in the software checking page in nokia europe site. can anyone tell me how to change product code and is it safe to change the ori prod code. i need to update my firmware bcoz my n73 always hang and freeze.. anyway, i just bought n73 secondhand last week from my friend in malaysia. a 2nd n73 for only RM600. impossible 4 me to reject his offer as this n73 in malaysia costs RM1850 the normal edtn one. TQ

                Hi all. I'm thinking of buying the N73 and wondered if anybody could tell me: will the phone run slower if I put in a 2gb miniSD card than if I use a 1gb card? Many thanks.

                        Tips

                        In standby-mode, press and hold 0 to launch your wap home page.


                        In standby-mode, press and hold # to toggle between general and silent profiles


                        In standby-mode, press and hold right soft key to launch music player.


                        At the top of the main-menu and every folder, the keys 1 to 9 are shortcuts to the icons 1-9


                        In Settings > Phone settings > General, edit your start up welcome note / image


                        In Settings > Phone settings > Standby, edit your left and right selection keys for faster access


                        In Settings > Phone settings > Active standby appz, edit your shortcuts that shows on the main screen.


                        To switch off blue blinking light, go to Settings > Phone settings > Display, turn off sleep mode.


                        To auto lock keypad, press and release the ON button of the handphone ONCE, and choose “Lock Keypad”


                        N73 cannot set full screen wallpapers or animated gif wallpapers, but you can adjust image sizes accordingly ( eg: 440 x 480, or 240 x 320 ) to fit screen as much as possible.


                        Download music ringtone editor applications, such as audiogizmo ringtone creator from warez-bb.org,and create personalized mp3 / wma ringtones, alarm tones, message tones, or simply download the original Nokia tones from mobilesmania.com


                        To select all items, such as when clearing / deleting all messages in sent items folder, go to “Mark/Unmark”, select “Mark all”.


                        Create new profile, rename it as anything you want, and it will appear on the top of the main screen.


                        After installation of any games / applications, go Tools > File Manager > Installed files, and clear away the items ( if any ).


                        If certain games / applications cannot be uninstalled, try removing them in Tools > Application Manager


                        Switch off Bluetooth when not in use to prevent “blue-jacking”, or hacking of mobiles.
