To update the firmware the fone must be in "General mode" which is not possible for my fone...bcs my fone has been stucked in offline. I tried many times but the computer says"there is no software update for this fone "...Any help please.......thanx

Hi Jon, great thks for clearing my doubts, just 1 more last question & that is: Can the font size be adjusted? heard fm some users can't...whether they didn't play with phone well or true... (Refering to text messages-both read & write)this is the last obstacle bf I make the move.

--got no problem in switching my phone from offline to general..
guys,
the only problem that i encountered on this phone is whenever i installed a no. of themes some of them, say 50% are not reflected in the application manager thus you cannot delete it, worst is it is not reflected in the applications manager and also in the themes folder as well but in the log, it is installed, but is nowhere to be found..is this a bug or is it my phone...?please do reply guys..thnks

We tried and we 've no problem with our N73
You got problem with N73 cos like U say U didn't check to see if yr country has this model. Since U do not have this in yr country, then the other people U saw also having this probem is same as U.
ADVISE : WAIT..... DON'T BE IN SUCH A HURRY TO GET IT COS THERE'S A REASON FOR YR COUNTRY NOT CARRYING THIS MODEL EVEN UNTIL NOW.

I tried what u said with 10 n73 users from s'pore. So sorry, all of our phones are still alive and kicking so we can say this phone is super.
So sad you can't. Maybe just your luck. So U say what U want and let us do the same, don't control us.

All those persons who has this fone and says that they dont have any problem with this fone:-
Can u put ur fone in "Offline" profile and then change it to "General" profile...??
I did this and now my fone is dead
I saw other persons who also did this and their fone is also dead.
So,dont say that there is no problem with this fone........Thanx

I m using N73 from 2months, It is A great fone, but the big problem is its software.First u check in ur country if they have this model ,otherwise it will be a big problem for u because Nokia Care centre will not able to fix it if u will get some problem. I got some problem and here in my country Nokia Care centre refuse to fix it because they dont have this model till now and now I have to send it back to U.S.A to fix it.
Suggetion:- Never Put N73 In Offline Mode.Otherwise U ll Kill ur fone.......

Hi Richard,
I've got no problem with the problem yr friends are facing, irregardless of sms or CLI, it works correctly. even with voice on, ir the phone read out the callers name to you.
As to slower response, it's expected of smartphone, but to me its not that slow and it seems mine is alright.
With the prolems earlier, sorry not the phone faults, its due to my anti-virus program that cause the nokia suite to not boot up properly. But stick to the ver 6.81.13.0 the latest ver 6.82.22.0 seem to be a bit cranky when i updated that, opinion share by my friends too. I did brought the phone to nokia service ctr to have the firmware upgraded and to check on the volume of the radio reception. All well after upgrade.
To-date, minor hic-up like camera hanging, only 2 times. Well, touch wood, I'm still do alot of exploring of the phone during my spare time and reading up a lot re this phone on the net. Pretty exciting I should say. No complains but a lot of satisfaction when queries or doubts are solved.
Meanwhile, all system go for the phone for my daily usage. Now my son keep asking me to take photo and playing the edited/built-in slide shows for him.

Hi guys! I seen so many mesages about:"I like my screen without No cal. entries for today..." or the mesages...galery..wathever.
Here's a few steps to have you're screen clean:) ... Go to MENU-->TOOLS-->SETTINGS-->PHONE-->STANDBY MODE-->Turn Off ACTIVE STANDBY.. A have this phone for a mounth now, and the phone is awsome! I have no problems with this phone, camera is super, the joystick is very good... not heavy.. and he look's good! The battery.. well 3-4days! That's very good... Hope my opinion helps!

dun have music edition, but based on what i know...2G mini sd, and audio adapter
2.does it have a day wse repeat alarm like in 6233..?
you can only set alarm day by day i think. i using handy clock, so no issues with alarm.
3.Does it have an in-flight mode..?? -- only music functions and no phone functions..??
it's call offline mode, but i have not tried listening music while in offline mode.
4. doesn't it have a keypad lock facility..?? some told me it is not there.. or is it just the automatic keypad lock that is not there..??
the autolock is not there, you have to press ON button once, then select lock keypad. freeware is available.

Hi Jon, still got some input fm my friends, CID not showing correctly if phone no# stored w/o +65 (either SMS or Incoming will not indicate caller name correctly) switching applications/pw on/scroll are slower ±2secs is it correct. Seems like yours also encounter some problems right? did u also do any upgrade since first bought?

One of the best smartphones I have ever laid my hands on until now. I think a lot of people have summarized Nokia N73's pros pretty nice and of course the cons too. My belief is nobody or nothing is Perfect. Everything will need improvement and as this is a smartphone need to look for future firmware upgrades to attain perfection ( still that might lead to another problem, but thats Technology!! ).
I have been using this phone for 3 months now but found a serious problem. I tried upgrade to the new firmware. I live in the US and looks like the firmware is not available here and I wasn't able to upgrade to it. But silly me I reverted the phone to the backup that I took using the Nokia PC suite.
Now I miss a lot of softwares that came with the phone like :-
Converter
Calculator
Sudoko
...and some more...
Can one of you please let me know how can I get all those software back from any place ( I searched in Nokia website but in vain ). I really need the software.
