I had the same problem which i have now fixed.
If you have loaded your own music for ring tones through PC suite(copy & paste) the phones music player doen't recognise that the tracks are on the phone therefor when you receive a call the fone has a fit & shuts down. What you need to do is send the tracks 1 @ a time via blutooth as a msg then the fone's music player will recognise the music you have selected as a ring tone...

I baught N73 a few days ago. The software installed in the phone was 2.0628.0.0.3 (27-07-20060. I wanted to update it to 3.0(30-10-2006). But WHEN I try to update using nokia software updater it is tellin no new update available. Please try again later. What shall i do?

my n73 cant open any downladed themes.. it doesnt recognize it. i already upgraded it. what seems to be the problem?

Well, first let me tell you that I'm not a Nokia user, I would prefer Motorola or S.E., I had Motorola E398 and it was a great phone, but after two years of using it was the time to change it, I compared a lot of kinds and decided to buy Nokia N73, with this phone I can tell:
1. Battery: life is fantastic, if you are a medium user so you can charge it once each 4 days.
2. Camera: no need for a digital camer if you are not a proffitional user, it gives you a very nice pic. and vedio (more than enough for any normal user)
3. Sound : nice, but if we compare it to Moto E398 sound, the Moto win, but using the headset the sound is amazing.
4. SMS: a very speedy editor, yes the buttoms are small, but you'll get use of it soon.
5. Speed: it is little bit slow, but this is normal for any smart phone, I heard that the new update in Nokia website makes it faster, but I'm afraid to make this update since I'm happy for now having no porblems.
6. Software: you can install many importatn softwares, like MS office editor, Dictionary, amazing games, keypad lock, vedio and audio editors which I instaled them in my phone successfully.( you can find these programs in the web)
7.WiFi: it is a pitty that it has no Wifi, but for me I do'nt care, we can buy Wifi SD card to solve this problem.
8. Screen: fantastic , I like to have large screen phones.
9. Bluetooth: works with no problems at all.

I have been using N73 for 1 week..well the phone is great but the battery life really ridiculous..how can a fully charged battery last for just 1 day for standby only? need to charge it everyday?????? How? Can someone help me

N73 has no Wifi, WLAN, or whatsoever......go for N80 internet edition if you want that........

can anyone tell me how to upgrade the version ? is there any software i can use ? and wats the latest . . tnx
according to your region, go to a site similiar to this

be careful, do not unplug, disconnect, or do anything stupid while it is upgrading. just dun touch it, leave it one corner!
Your ph would be "dead" if anything goes wrong while upgrading. screen will go blank for a while, and then restart by itself. took me abt an hr to upgrade firmware by myself, and everythg runs smooth now....

Hi Guys... I am damn confused between SE K790 and Nokia N73
Where N73 excels over looks, K790 has much powerful sound. Also people keep scaring me that N series freezes and so does N73. Those who have actually used the phone(s), please give a genuine suggestion...
They both have almost same features.
almost same?....not exactly….. Memory Stick Micro (M2) is new, so it is more expensive……..this is one of the points that turns me off when I was choosing btw K790 / K800 and N73……….

I've been using the N83 for over a month right now.. I'm a light user but the phone is excellent and it has all i was looking for and more actually.. as i was focused to buy the n71 but really its camera rocks!! the 3.2M is a great way to show off in ur pics a take is the relatively long time the camera takes to start up..
The media player are convenient , the radio services , the battery and the sound quality it has one of the best handsfree I've used (3230 and w800)
great display specially with the protection of the plastic cover..
ofcourse it may lag a bit if u have ur memory near or full.. its a nokia phone more or less..
but on my scale i give it 8.7 out of 10 with a resting concious
i have a question for any n73 user..
does it happen with u also when u open the gallery>images & videos any picture and try to zoom you get the message "gallery: memory full.. close some applications and try again"??
is that a software fault or a virus..? if anyone has a clue I'd love a reply.. thanks
i had error when open gallery, but it is resolved after i upgraded firmware myself. if this does not solved ur prob, most prob u need to reformat ph.

good music player - both are good, but N73 does not support A2DP, meaning it appears as mono, rather than stereo when used with bluetooth headsets, not sure if K800 supports.

hi friends.
I will be getting a new fone in 2007 march. I am right now having nokia 6600. I am very confused between 3 models n73 or n73 music edition or s.e k800. I dnt lyk s.e k800 coz of 2 reasons, small display and it does not operate on symbian os. Guys can i be able to install yahoo.go in s.e k800. Plz help me i dnt want to do any mistake. After taking any of them i cant replace it coz the dealer wont take it back. So plz help me. Thanking u all.

Does the new software v3 for that phone enables arabic cuz i had to download it from nokia Europe page as it wasnt on nokia middleeast..
If anyone has a clue or has the right software with arabic plz reply...

to deepak, Nokia is well known for its freezing software problems but it will be fixed when you upgrade the software or use the phone for a longer time. both have different platforms so u cannot compare but rather like one of them. each and everyone has its own flaws so just rank yr preference and select the phone according to that!

I've been deciding which phone to buy N70/N73/SEk800i.
I've been reading all the opinions from everyone and i've seen that N73 seems to have alot problems so i've some questions i need help with.
1. What causes the problems such as the phone turning on/off by itself, hangs, freezes, running very slow, turning off by itself. Is it because of the firmware? If yes, would the problem be solved once we update it to the latest ones? If no, in what way can we fix this problem?
2. I've see some people opinion saying the video recorder don't last up for more than 1 minute ? Is it due to the memory card problem and if we change to a bigger size memory card will the duration of video recording be longer?
3. Saw some people complain that the camera is just 2 MP only, is it true ?
4. I have bought this and the first one after 1 glorious day of me configuring everything to my liking died absolutely when I put my 1Gb MiniSD card in it. Screen went blank and it slowed the WHOLE thing down to like 3 mins to scroll and get into functions and when camera was opened it would reset itself. The 2nd one (this week) started resetting itself out of the box and after every 5th or 6th keystroke/function. Maybe its just me but 100% struck out with this. Getting a 6233 to see what its like now !! Anyone else face the same ??? - By KASHIF. Why is it like this? Does it always happen if we put a new memory card in it?
