        @sv

        Thanks for the excellent review!

Also noted that many users who posted in gsmarena are happy with their N73s. However, on many of the other sites (by searching on google), it is observed that most of the users have serious problems with their N73s - like they had to visit Nokia Care 5 times, got their phone motherboards changed, upgraded the firmware, etc. but to no good.

Could this be similar to what happened with the Nokia 3230? One huge lot of faulty phones (with hardware problems) was shipped by Nokia and most of them were returned by users after much cursing.

Also it is noted that many of the users say that "I'm having this mobile since xx months and it's working fine ... etc. etc. etc" i.e. those who bought the phone few months back are happy with it as the phone has fewer or no problems, but those who bought the phones RECENTLY - have problems - e.g. "I just bought this phone few days back and it doesn't work even after changing firmware, mainboard ... etc. etc. etc ... It's a waste of money ... etc. etc. etc.".

Could it be another faulty lot by Nokia (with hardware faults)?

Also after reading opinions for other Nokia phones (N80, E61, etc) you can see very similar problems. Is it a generic S60v3 problem? Or phone specific? With more and more Nokia phones coming in, phone stability is taking a nose-dive downwards.

        Any comments on this?

I'm planning to change from 6630 to N73, but got really scared after reading about the phone being unstable/crashing. Also, in my country, it's next to impossible to prove to the Nokia Care people that the phone DOES have problems, forget getting it fixed. They are just too arrogant and refuse to accept it! Their only aim is to sell the phones. Once sold, their job is done, they don't care what happens after that. So if I get a faulty N73, I'm totally wasted. I was thinking of N80/E61, but they too have similar stability problems, although not on such a scale.

        Any comments, guys?

I've had the N73 since September of this year; I'm using it with Cingular. Overall, it's a solid phone..great display, great functionality, well-made. My only issues with the phone are..1) it has lag time when switching between apps on the phone 2) and yes, the camera cover is getting loose. 3) it doesn't have a re-occuring alarm. Other than those three reasons, pointing anything else out would be nit-picky. What's considered a "perfect phone" or close to perfect phone to one person; isn't so with the next person. With that in mind and all things considered..I'd definitely recommend the N73.

N73. What can i say...... This is a fantastic phone, camera quality is great, MP3 play back is awesome.

Did find that it can start to be a little slow when sending SMS but just down load the SMS excelorater for free from the Nokia web site and all those problems are gone.

If you find you'd like an automatic key gaurd then ypou can also get this software from Nokia at a cost.

All these people who say the lense cover is becoming loose stop complaining if you want something you can throw around get yourselves an 5500 Sport or if thats too high tech get the 5140i

hi, i have had this phone since august, its working perfect, no loose camera cover, not much software problem, some people that the phone works very slow i guess they use occupy too much of the phone memory, try to move some to the external memory. i recently started using the yahoo!go in my mobile, excellent, yahoo mail and yahoo messengeron the go, cool. not the wap mobile mail or messenger....and there are many more, except one fact that the joystick top starts showing da bronze color after so many usage. guys take care of it by using some cover protection.

                  1. you can press “*#0000#” to check your phone version, mine is: v2.0628.0.0.1
                  10-07-2006
                  rm-133
                  nokia n73 (77.02)

                  2. you cank lock your key and phone both, dont worry about that.

                  3. I used to have the phone hangup on receiving phone calls, but then i switched off da 3d caller tone effect, i never happens, and the tone sounds never less.

i would suggest this phone to people who really like mobile phones, not the camera, i just bought a nice digital camera, no mobile camera can compete.

Am going to trade-in my 6 mths old O2 Atom and get myself this N73. Hope I am making the right choice having been frustrated with O2's useless 2MP camera. (Take some 5 secs to record the picture after you press the shutter.) Also hate the way Windows work - having to close those programs that are kept 'alive' after quiting.

Aaah... and this morning my O2 Atom recurring alarm failed to ring. Also can't use MP3 as ringtone. Had to convert them to WMA before coying them to the RING folder.

                            Hope N73 is good choice.

i don't know whats wrong with you guys but i have no problem with my camera lense cover, it fits tightly even one month after use. As for the photos taking at night, I usually snap my objects like 2 metres away from the cam and i dont find a problem with it.
Unless you people use the camera like a baboon, i dont find any trouble with the camera lense cover. Good battery, better speed and performance with software compared to previous versions, but nokia can do much better i say.... seriously, stop complaining about the camera lense cover :-)

yes.N73 seems to be the perfect hp but then, not perfect enough for a hp freak like me.cause i like to use hp to its fullest potential.only backdraw is that when listening to music,if we use a bluetooth stereo headset, its not stereo.Where else SEK800,Samsung E870n even thai hp brand Imobile 902 has built in stereo bluetooth.never mind.no hp is perfect.

The N73 to me is the best mobile i have ever used an its a superb handset that really take superb photos the speakers are the loudest i have ever heard on a mobile,Nokia said the Music Express N73 should be released in October but still no sign of it on any website saying it available i just want to see whats the only change from my N73 as the 3.5mm jack for headphones seems to be the only difference an a full black fascia just can"t wait to see it first
