Nokia N79 user, 18 Oct 2009hello guys, i'm using nokia N79 for 5 months now. i think i... moresorry there is a mistake. if you want to save battery turn dual mode to GSM at network settings. sorry for the mistake

I have 2 basic requirements(these are must):
1)3g enabled(min 3.6 mbps)i.e. good net support &
2)browser should access youtube.com & play vids online from this site without any difficulty ('cannot play the video' this msg is not allowed).
The cam and music should be there but quality doesn't matter much (I don't insist on good cam quality or good quality music, I just require that cam should take photo and player should play music enough audible for me.)
but first 2 conditions matter a lot.
pls.........pls........suggest me from 2 of these which should i have :- nokia 5800 xpressmusic or nokia n79 (as both are 3g phone).
ur guideline will be precious for me.
if possible i want to know what is TV-out feature.

hello guys, i'm using nokia N79 for 5 months now. i think is really worth it to buy this phone beacuse its all in one device. Here's my short review. Lets start with pros.
PROS:
1.GsmArena says that the camera is not the best for 5 megapixel. yep i have to agree with that.BUT, after i updated the new firmware update from version 10,20 and the latest i updated since august is version 30.019. and the camera quality is completely improved. and the cam quality is same as N82 after update version 30.019. But the flash are led so n82 won for night photo. Anyway, the pictures is really great! it replaces my digicam. the camera quality is soooooooooooo beautiful and awsome!
2.The music is really good, it doesnt distort even on max volume!After you update the version 30.019the music quality is completely improved and the headphone prvided is nice and good sound output, not like cheapo Xpress Music headphone(nokia 5130 everyone?)
3.The auto rotate is sooo fast and its faster than my other phone nokia 5800 have a nice theme effect. if you buy N79 you get what i mean.
4.Its reasonable price, in my country Malaysia i bought this phone cost RM 1499(in nokia original store,but i got a discount RM 1299 though)But hell yeah its quite resonable with all in one price.
5.Good battery life, in heavy use it stands for 2.5 days, for moderate used 6 days. Its really good batterylife and if you didnt used 3g, turn it to dual mode in network setting because dual mode caused batery to finish fast.
6. Gps has a really good signal. but i don't use it much so i wont talk any further about gps.
7.Wifi signal is holy strong! almost same as my laptop. i live in 5th floor and i got almost 5 or 6 wifi connection using N79.
8.Video quality is awsome, is sooo much better than nokia 5800 because nokia n79 video quality is celar and not gloomy like 5800. And you can used video light for night recording.
9.Navi wheel is tha best because of a flat D-pad. you can scroll the menu,music,photo etc alot faster. Nokia N78,81,85 their navi wheel sucks
10.Fm transmitter has a very good signal. Much much better than N78.
CONS:
1. sometimes it hangs for no reason.example when i want to scroll a photo it hangs sometimes, but not always though. Update firmware, the hang problem is still present but rarely hapened.
2.Auto rotate sometime doesnt respond! example when i rotete the phone and the standby screen didn't rotate. Or rotate like 10 seconds later Same thing happend vise versa.
3.N gage to open the N gage application takes ages to open, it slow and you only got a trial version not a full version. want full version you have to buy it!!
4. The flash at night is bright but not as bright as N86 flash and the worst part is when you took photo at night if you wanna to take photo at a bit far from the object there's a refelcton on the top left part of the image.You know why? Because of the metal gap between lens and flash.
5.The speaker loudness is a bit low for stereo speakers. N73 is way louder(for example max music volume in n79 just 60% volume of n73). The bass is not that great either. it focused at vocal and treble more than bass.
Conclusion: For the pros and cons, i think i rate it
4.5/5 because of the amazing all in one set device. I highly reccomended everyone to buy this majestic phone to everybody. so thanks for reading my review and see ya. you ask quaestion. i have a blog about n79 sample pics. anyway thanks for reading my review.

My observations- ... moreYou correct this is very good stable smartphone and its better performence is down to nokias feature pack 2 software..The n79 is very light but packed with everything you could want and good battery,,The thing i disagree with you is touchscreen thought cause i dont like them i like real buttons..A good review of which is all true..

I ve been using n79 since last 3 months. My observations-
Cover: rear cover isnt compact enough.
Camera: Sharp and glossy images at daylight. Not so good at night. N82 is better at night with XENON. Video Quality is very good
Sound: Music quality in headset is awesome, although loudspeaker produces crispy and medium volume sound
OS: fast enough, much better than n82
Web: awesome experience, everything is here, hi speed edge, gprs, 3g, wlan everything along with a very efficient browser, search engine, instant sharing applications.
Office application: built in pdf,doc,xls,ppt viewer, no need for E series.
Gaming: N-gage loaded, need anything else?
Battery: with medium brightness, 5 hours of talkings, 2 hrs of internet browsing it could last at least 2 days, which is good enough. Moreover during music playback it drains very little amount of charge.I heard it cud play 24hrs of music
Specials : FM transmitter, auto rotate screen, touch sensitive navigation wheel, Full Screen caller image , power saving mode, internet radio & 2 extra rear covers. you r gonna love these things
Finally it will fulfill all your wishes except touch sreen (hahahaaa)

Features of N79 -> 2G/3G/WiFi/GPS/5MP/Video light recording/FM transmiter/Navi wheel (great feature) over all great build quality and its N series.
Features of 5800 ->2G/3G/WiFi/GPS/only 3MP/No navi wheel but its a touch screen(ressitive touch)/Gota great music quality but I am not happy with iots build quality.It ressembles a soap box ;)
where as 5530 doen't have 3G and its slighlty overpriced compared to the price and features of both N79 and 5800.It will take some time to settle down its price.I own N79 black and am happy with its perfomence.
