More than a perfect boys why shying away and now at 325 us d the shape tech everything the cons are a little rigid key pad not enough animated themes xenon missing pros extra long battery 4gb schd transmitter 5mp with dual led mark is actually good upto 4m video light is good bundles of accessories and definitely better than offerings at the moment 1 thing i do miss a belt strap baggage

Anybody pls compare n79 with n73 me. m a music fan. I want to upgrade my n73 me to n79. Pls compare only sound quality and loudness from speakers and headphone. Thanks in advance

I think they named N79 right "Swiss Army Knife" the price of this phone is as sharp as the knife and no other nokia phone can beat it due to its humongus price tag. Not worth it guys. I have used it and got bored with it in a week, sold it and bought 5800Express music(Worth the money you spend).
N79 Defects:
1)Very Bad Camera(Fake 5MP)
2)slow compared response to clicks
3)Its huge in size(Dimension) and small in weight
4)Fm Transmiter is just for namesake (Once u use it u will never use it)- Too much distortion.
5)N-Gage is put just for namesake - keypad is not sutable for gamimg
6)Design of it is somewhat "OK",but still looks cheap!
7)Screen is small and not suitable for browsing
8) Forgot the main thing "Highly Priced"
9)GPS takes more time to start than it predesessor N78
10)People wont belive the price you paid for this phone as it looks plasticky and cheap.
I have lots more to say but my hands are tired of typing!

oh man, people are getting very confused abt the phone by going thru the opinions...some says its very gud and some says its very bad...i'm also getting confused whether to buy this phone or nt..

if nokia has something like brand image than they should exchnage all n79 from market with good 5mp new phone as it has thirdclass picture quality. if u take group photo than side character get spread. yellow color spreads.i am really disappoint buying nokia n79. i really request nokia people to exchange all n79 phone what they have sale with new good 5mp quality phone.i am really ashamed when i compare nokia n79 quality with sony erricson c902 or motorola zn5 phone. even sound are better in other phone.

i don't like nokia phones but, this is the 1st nokia phone i would love 2 buy.....
it's small, it's not heavy (because many nokia phones are big & heavy) , it has everything !
i really like it!
i think it's going 2 be a hit!

I was a big fan of N79 before its release, i was definite to buy it, but after seeing its review i understood its not worth soo much money. But when i saw 5800ExpressMusic, cheaper, better audio quality, touch interphase, new s60 platform, easy texting, i feel the 3.2 MP camera is better than n79's fake 5MP camera. The big 3.2 screen, 8GB card included with package. Price is very cheap compared to "n79". In my openion N79 is not upto the mark for the price it is being sold.

i had this phone last week... so far so good... i ahd the white version... the only thing that sucks is the camera... you can't feel the 5mp thingy... my sister has the n82 and the camera really is good!! but im not after the camera.. the 20K(philippines peso) is worth it... love it!!! weeee~~~ so happy to have this!! by the way, every time i send text messages to a lot of contacts, it suddenly changes to MMS... i dont know how to get it back to text messages...

Does it have a 3d hardware acceleratot ... more@Haresh...the phone doesnt have a platform or the ship like n82 to support high performance...but still the spped of its processor being higher than n82 haapens to make the phone perform the same...and the Xenon flash has been replaced by 2 leds...infact all the new nokia models are having 3 leds instead of a xenon flash...including the new n82 phones being manufactured...i hope this answers your questions well... :)

it costs 430 US dollars in Lebanon....and yes i find it better than n73 and even better than n82...now that there's the new firmware 10.0 update, the camera performance became better, it doenst take 1 minute to zoom into a pic anymore...all the problems are now solved...
as for the part of saying n82 has a better camera because it has xenon flash...well thats simply wrong...xenon flash has its negative sides...
it is useless in video recording, while double led flash is the best in video recording...so imaging wise, n82 is better during the night, but both n82 and n79 will perform the same during the day...as for video recording, n79 is wayyyyy better....
so i guess n79 wins...

talking about the camira it is good in still image and video and they will improve it in all the incoming releases or firmwares that they (nokia) planed to make N79 is a sound and music king to replace the N73me success
