This is one of the best phones from Nokia. You just need to compare this phone with N8 or E7 on gsmarena to see for yourself what I mean. This was and is revolutionary, far ahead of it's time. Truly, a swiss army knife.

Hi. I have been using n79 for the last 6 months. This phone is brilliant in most areas but does nit get ten on ten-well remains at 7 or a generous 8. The most excitin and out of the box is the fm transmitter. The 5 mpx camera is not that great. I mean outdoor day light photographs are quiet great but night photography is not pleasant. Indoor photography is ok thanks to its literally blinding double flash. The major flaws are-just ok looks, mediocre speed thanks to nokias bad long habit of slow processors, bit small keypad and freezing of frames in full resolutioon video recording. The music quality is good-around 8 of 10 but lacks loudness and it probably over amplifies some low freqiencies. But has a lot of pros- light weight,compact and solid build. And complete spec of features including wifi and gps. So to say jack of all trades but king of some but not all.:)

Yes , its the n79 , one of greatest devices Iv ever used and Iv used much . Im using it now , the sexy , elegent , slim petrol black . I cant remember anything missing in this phone ( only the xenon flash ) but I dont take pictures in the night so thats why I traded my old n82 for a new n79 . Its a joy to carry and use . Nokia , u need another non-touchscreen flagship phone to make me satisfied after this .

hey guys using N79,
i have a question. i wanted to check the microphone prob with nokias. those who have n79, please do this and tell me yr experience.
call up customer care or any free of cost no. after the call starts, mute using options--> mute. now go to recorder (i think in settings/ applications), press record to record yr call. now just say something..."hello.. hello.." for some time and then hangup. now check the file that is recorded, go to gallery, refresh it and then in sound clips find the recording and play it. we had muted our microphone, so there should not be any "hello... hello" in the recording. please tell me what did u find.
all phones nowadays have digital mic in them. so when u record a call with mic muted, the caller wont hear yr sound but the recording will catch up all the surrounding sounds. this is not the case with n73 and n79 (as told by nokia care)
Plz guys and gals, help me find a clean recording abled phone.

The phone is okay and durable.i am still using it for the past 5years now.
