Wow...
this one word pretty much sums up the whole of the nokia n8. it is an absolute brilliant phone engineered to almost perfection. The physical design, and the super glowing AMOLED screen is brilliant for playing HD games, movies and the LOT.
The responsiveness has not been a problem at all, unlike other Nokia phones which i have used.
However i feel that the features of the N8 are not being used to the full extent by nokia. although they have produced such an elegant phone, the lack of apps within the OVI store is an evident problem. this operating system is new in the market, but needs to be well presented to other companies to generate interest to make apps (including games) for the Symbian^3 OS...
why has apple been so successful in making people and companies want to produce application, is what has lead to the success of their phone.
Over all, it is a masterpiece of a phone, but its full features need to be taken advantage of to ensure that it becomes the success it deserves!

[deleted post]why not, did you know about croping? or when you make zooming, look what you get with 5mp crappy camera and 12 mp detalization. feel the difference!

I know about gorilla glass and i've seen... moreOk, Gorilla glass needs no screen protector, but there are number of screen protectors available for N8. Mainly two types.
1. Clear screen protectors.
They are gloss type, retain the picture quality of the screen, but feel a little slippery and finger print magnets. it is a little hard to clean the screen protector rather than the direct glass. so virtually not useful with N8
2. Anti glare matt protectors
Mate type screen protectors and the anti glare reduces the finger prints and easy to clean. Since it is matt surface it really enhance the touch screen performance. Your finger will move without any slips. Very helpful to use swype input, but it reduces the picture quality of the screen.
If any one want to use a screen protector with N8 i will suggest Anti glare matt protectors because you will definitely feel the deference in touch screen performance specially for swype in put, pinch to zoom and swipe gestures. Other than that screen protectors are not necessary for N8.
Performance of both the type screen protectors are the same for any phone, even for HTC desire, iPhone, SGS etc.

Nowadays all I have to do is use my N8 in public to be called a show off. It is so useful in so many situations. A great all in one device. The N8 is great!

on a side note i have been reading this page a long while now.
I'm still waiting for my Nokia N8 very impatiently coz of all the stuff you guys said and im seriously amp'd
but i am in south africa and here one must be very patient.
looks like they are only going to ship them out after the update :(

come to think of it, the n8's slogan 'it's not technology, it's what you do with it' makes a heck lot of sense. for example you phone might have a high res display, or a good camera, or a dual core processor. but think about it, are you gonna really use it? and i mean like use it to the fullest potential? if no, give it a pass. we all have a choice in this world people. it is not right to use some phone just because it is popular right now but you dont have the slightest idea on what are you actually gonna do with it. I know about gorilla glass and i've seen a lot videos with knives, rocks, katanas(!!!), etc.. etc...
but i think it's better with a nice film above it.

Screen protector is not really nessasary for the n8 since it has gorilla glass. If you still want it consult a shopkeeper and ask for a good one

I installed the hyperx mod and its update...i didn't like it much hence uninstalled it but still the images are still send 3~4 mb...can't figure out why...any suggestions would be appreciated...
