    @koolest:

i dont think the plastic would have much effect on the image quality.. i plan not to remove it until it removes by itself so that i can prevent scratches on the fone..

so whilst older phones may noy automatiaclly support SDHC cards the newer phones can. there is NO difference in SDHC cards except being above 4GB again if i am wrong someone will correct me

symbian^3 just needs some Dev support already, as much as Andriod/ios.. heck even win7 is getting not so bad support :)

they really need to penetrate the US market, sadly thats where all the custom(not functional) apps come from..

custom as for example, app for doctors, app for certin websites, basically apps u can live "without", but would be great to add them to ur collection if you can :)

I just wondering why Nokia Company not using Nokia N8 same lens on rest Nokia models? To be honest i more prefer Nokia E7 over Nokia N8, coz got qwerty buttons but unfortunately crapy camera lens.

Also me and many more peoples Nokia N8 just love for best pictures quality in a camera phones market.
At the moment my dream phone is Samsung I9000 Galaxy S (coz almost all specification and best screen quality) but unfortunately compare with Nokia N8 he got crappy photo camera lens. Sooo...

dorian, 29 Dec 2010Personally i think the phone is excellent, anyone who tells... moreIf you are installing applications directly from ovi store then you have to go into your ovi store account settings and change the default installation location from phone memory to mass memory. If you do not install applications on the phone memory then the ram is adequate.

The built in browser has its good and bad but you may want to try opera mobile as this works great on the N8. Disable opera turbo, enable fullscreen and set zoom to 200%. When you download this from the opera site the phone will ask you where you want to install it. Never choose phone memory.

I got my black gray N8 2 months back, hoping to get rid of my point and shoot canon, initially it was good, i used to get red rectangle in the middle of the screen occasionally, but as time passed it became more common to get red rectangle in place of the green, showing that the camera was not focussing properly, around a week back it was 1 in 20 times that the camera was making the accurate focus, otherwise 19 times it was out of focus, and the images were blurred. Tried resetting camera, soft and hard reset phone, no avail, went to nokia care, was told that it was a hardware problem, they would need to send it to higher centre, it may need to be replaced, will take 15 to 20 days, and i will be without my set for this much time. Suddenly all the theories of N8 defective handsets started looking real. What if the second handset also goes kapoot(defective) after sometime. should i sell it off, suggest me an alternate good smartphone, i am loosing my faith in Nokia

                                    Hi Everyone

I just got the Nokia N8 and enjoying it, but I have a problem and wonder if you can help me with this... I have allready downloaded 500 songs from Ovi Music, but when I want to set one of these songs as my Ringingtone it says its protected and I cant use it...? Is there a way to do this or to unprotect it?

                                    Pleas help!!
                                    Thanks

Personally i think the phone is excellent, anyone who tells you otherwise is just plain mad
                                        - or has been unfortuante to purchase a faulty unit from a bad batch.

                                        my bio
i have used htc handsets for the past 5 years, with both windows and android flava operating systems[including htc touch, artemis, hero], and before that sonyericssons - and hand on heart i can only say well done to Nokia, because this handset is really, really cool.

Where this handsets excels is in the calendar, - absolutely perfect

The camera is fine - i'm no avid photographer

The music player is really impressive, love the layout and the sound quality, is out of this world not to mention the handsfree, being quality

Bluetooth, wifi has been fine also ovi maps using GPS.

The most impressive thing about this handset is how it shows open application and how it allows you to switch through different applications - brillant

The only downside of the handset is the internal memory being 512mb, also i have not figured out how to install applications on the 16gb yet - but worst case scenario - this can be rectified via a software update in due course, if Nokia chooses to do so

and the other boo boo, is the web browser.

Fix the downsides, create a rss feed reader, and get out of your system windows 7 on your handsets and your be fine, for many years to come.

from a user who is not pleased easily...........once agin well done!!!!!
