then turn it on again
mine got that "invalid server name" too but it got fixed
i just turned it off and on

Soumadipta, 26 Dec 2010but in india there have been really very few defective unit... moreHere so many defects and bugs ! Most of the users ve already sold it ! My N8 was restarting ! Loudspeaker of the 1st replacement stopped working ! 2nd replacement was switched off automatically n never turned on again ! NPD was guiding nt to buy N8 ! N.care people told me that N8 has production faults,many users r facing problems !

Gitty, 26 Dec 2010India>mumbaibut in india there have been really very few defective units... thats y i wanted to ask i'm from kolkata... n here not a single defective unit reported n nokia priority dealer guarenteed me nothing will happen n he kept his words.. max defective units have been in europe malaysia n phillipines dont know y!!!!!

I had this problem earlier due to connectivity issues.

Bought N8 in November. Broke down within 2 weeks with all my valuable wedding photos and videos. Now in repair centre for 2 weeks an still counting. Contacted customer service many times and just got standardized response. I think Nokia is too arrogant in their dealing with customer. Nokia knew there was problem with N8 and yet decided to proceed with the launch. It have recall the product.
Apart from the phone camera, there is nothing fantastic about N8. The operating system is slow and sluggish. The interface is tedious. The supposedly large built in memory resulted in me losing all my data when the phone gone down. Have always been loyal Nokia user...time to move on and change.

guys i tell u the fact. n8 is good and the camera n8 has is also good. many good features r there. i accept.. n8 is a good phone but u cant do any frther modifications and changes in it.. i m 100% sure u will get bore very soon keeping it and playing with same features.. but n900 has many features which u can modify and the applications are same as ur computer has.. no doubt it can play avi flv and many other formats directly without any problem coz it is Linux based phone.. NO VIRUS AT ALL as Linux is virus proof OS.. I dnt know abt u all but i m extremly happy with this phone.. hey guys read reviews abt it and then decide urself....

i work in construction and this phone is scratch free after 3 months. I also have over 900 songs on it plus 3 movies one being The Town top class movie and 4 games.with no problems.and well over 300 photos. i cannot fault this phone...USB ON THE GO OUTSTANDING

if thats the case, then take the screen protector off, the plastic thingy that came on the screen... the protector is "scratched" not the screen it self.. good luck

i dont believe your scrach story.i hadd a n86 before and it hadd scrach resistence screen and i tried to scrach it with diferent things and i couldnt.so i think that the screen of the n8 wich is more resistent than that of the n86 is unscracheble.
I saw in the review that you cant copy a video that is biger than 2gb bu i currently have a 3.4gb movie on my n8.interesting because i never saw a mestake on gsmarena.

Well N8 is the best nokia phone ever to come,but I am very much feeling cheated after buying it bocz it was advertised to be scrath resistant display and body with gorilla glass, BUT I recently observed that my nokia N8 has got 3 scrathes on its screen I nevewr kept it anywhere near objects which would likely scrath it but it got scrathed buy just keeping it in the same pocket as motorola milestone , So GUYS NOKIA N8 IS NOT TOTLALLY SCRATH RESISITANT THE SCREEN ON MY DEVICE HAS FEW SCRACTHES
