Did anyone hear about the N8 shooting the entire lot of pictures taken for the magazine PIX. I suggest the haters take a back seat very quietly now! This phone replaced a DSLR camera for the entire shoot. Go check it out.

[deleted post]well there you go ammar
I bacame a man by abandoning toys and all you want to do is play games

the most apps i have had on the go @ once is 4
              bluetooth, contacts music WWW.
4 ACTIVE PROGRAMS when I was changing to a nokia smartphone
Can you have more than that at the same time. I see this a lot N8 can't multitask. But if your play ANGRY BIRD game(again little man) what else can you do on even on the N8 or SGS
SO yes multitask but really more than 4. i'm good but you appear to be phenomenal.
how much can i get for a buzzlight year mint condition ?

              Be aware

              Still its very bad !!!
256MB RAM is nothing for multitasking >>> Im facing many problems with my nokia N8 that memory is full and I need to close some application !!!
When they will post nokia with 512MB RAM - 2GB ROM then you can buy a nokia mobile
I will sell my nokia and take Galaxy S soon.

              It is junk for multitasking
I play NFS shift - ALphat5 -ANGRY BIRD Seson - AVATAR

replacements under warranty are just that, if there is a manufacturers fault. In this case no defect. pocketc are for what they do carry things. if he places his N8 in his pocket the argument is that he placed other things there also. forces magnify over reduced areas. SO placing a 100g weight on a £1 coin for example and letting that sit on you hand ie easy that same 100g weight £1.00 with a needle betwen hand & coin ouch! he hasn't said if he has other things in his pockets which has to be the case. Not being a LL COOL J I,ve seen women with ultra tight jeans whose phone has cracked screen. they admit the screen cracked just by sitting down (i.e as they sat down crack.. pressure

It's one of the best mobile phone that Nokia has created..Good job for Nokia for the N8..I think they must include a mini dvd-rom and dual hi-fi speaker for next generation of N series..I like it!

beastn8, 24 Dec 2010i hvnt put my n8 in extreme comditions .. i just kept it in... more What I meant when I said extreme conditions was, a very sharp object rubbing against the glass with quite a bit of force, such as a Diamond ring perhaps. It may very well be a hairline fracture and not a scratch that you have. Maybe you banged into something while the phone was in your pocket without realizing it.
I watched a youtube video of someone rubbing their house keys repeatedly against the N8's Gorilla glass and it didn't leave a mark. The same goes for the anodised Aluminium body. That also is scratch resistant.
Whatever the cause, just ask Nokia if they will repair your unit for you.

                    All the best.

Ashwani, 24 Dec 2010Can we change nokia N8's Battery or not. Plz. tell me Proc... more It's not advised to for the end user to change the N8's battery but it is possible. There are two hex screws on the bottom of the unit, one under the camera button and the other under the usb port.
If you are having issues with the battery though, it is fully covered under Nokia's 2 year warranty. Just take it to a Nokia care point for assistance.

                      Cheers.

beastn8, 24 Dec 2010HELP guys .. got a scratch on my N8 screen .. HELP me pls w... more That is most unfortunate. For that to have happened it would have to have taken quite a bit of abuse.
I don't think Nokia's warranty will cover that though, as they state the screen is scratch " resistant " rather than scratch " proof ". What that means is, it is still possible to scratch the screen but only in extreme situations.
Having said that, it won't hurt to take it to a Nokia care point and ask them if they will replace the screen under warranty.

                            Best of luck.

[deleted post] I'm pretty sure the issues you are experiencing with regards to multi tasking must be unique to your particular device.
I myself have yet to experience any noticeable lag when multitasking, so I would suggest you take your N8 to a Nokia care point and have them investigate what the problem may be.

                                All the best.

For Calendar Sync: Settings>Phone>Mail>Mail for Exchange and pop in your details. Email, Password, put user name as the email and then MfE server as m.gogle.com. I can’t seem to get calendar to Sync. A long route to get your gmail info is to export from gmail and import into ovi calendar (and sync via ovi Calendar).

Anonymous, 24 Dec 2010I'm sure that N8 is an awesome phone. But I'm not sure that... moreI haven't had any experience with the N95 but I do own an N82 too :) I believe when it comes to serve as a camera phone, I've pushed the N82 to its very limit. I'm quite pleased, but the overall quality can't be compared to the N8. N8 gives even the most amateur shooters nicer and much detailed shots, while at most time N82 takes me a lot of time tweaking the settings, and despite its pretty decent shutter speed some moments are still lost times to times, which is a real shame. However there is one thing I'm rather sure that is the N82 xenon flash is more powerful than that of the N8, and based on GSMarena's review, images captured in low light condition by the N8 isn't as much pleasant to look at compare to N82; but you know the magic Nokia's firmware updates usually brings :) The price tag sure hurts though, in many reasonable ways.
