vixy, 22 Dec 2010how is the keypad in n8? qwerty or normal one like abc :p p... moreHi there, Vixy. In portrait mode screen the keypad is in ABC mode while in landscape the keypad is in QWERTY. All both seems good to me, no problems acquired.

some tips toi share with n8 users
you can download umplayer to play rmvb smoothly from chinese developers, it is runnuing on my phone without any problems
just hope nokia uimproives thoer screen size and resolution intheir future touch phones, anfd offer us perfect flick scrolling

1- Not so reliable, again a common problem with most Nokia's; the phone some how stops being able to handle simple tasks like closing an application. Okay to be fair; there is 3 gig of data being used up, but it shouldn't be a problem for the a Symbian^3 and the cpu of a Nokia N8.
I've had a Nokia X6 too, again I had the exact same problem.
2- Obviously with Ovi, not so many apps, but this can be overcome as websites like 'www.Mobile9.com' and others have the apps that can be used on this Nokia N8. I downloaded 'Angry Birds' for free from this site!
BUT
NB: the files have to be 'sisx.' files if you want to install an app. If that makes sense.
3- There are certain things, although pinicketty, very annoying as the IPhone 4 has already covered most of them. e.g. can't use multi-touch to copy and paste from the internet browser, the internet browser is not very good at all.
4- Nokia haven't taken into account the importance of small things such as a stopwatch, realplayer is not available on Nokia N8.
There are a few examples of the problems Nokia have made with the Nokia N8.
Overall I think they have made a good phone, but it's definitely NOT a great phone, which it could have been.

GSM arena says desire is louder, But i think it is not true, i mean you cant compare Speaker performance of Desire and N8 for music play back, its N8 just like camera. But if you use the headset, Both are almost similar, but i feel N8 is a little better.

I have had the Nokia N8 for a few days and im pleasantly suprised..
There has been many mixed opinions..
As soon as i got the device i installed Spb Shell and have aquired the Nokia Factory Pro software and this device is quick with no lag.
Movies play smoothly and i play 720p videos at 30fps and the sound quality is simply exellent.
I come from a back ground of Iphone 4/ Samsung Galaxy s / Htc Desire Hd.
Battery life on all these devices is simply rubbish 8 hours max with moderate use however the N8 will easily get through the whole day with no issues.

Hi everyone! N8 is simply superb, The only negative is n8 headset its totally a local headset. not only in n8 all the nokia variants are facing the same issue. They sell handsets in very high price & they doesn't keep the standard in accessories. Especially N8 users & 3.5mm jack users. Plz buy apple genuine headset and enjoy the real high definition sound too.

Look, if you love the wave, then buy the wave. Doesnt mean its better than N8 or not. The important thing is your right to choose. Come on people! How many of us have a girlfriend that we know is not the best girl in the world but we love her more than all others. Still, loving your girl doesnt mean you have to cuss out mine. Thats outright nonesense! The sensible thing is to go spend more time with the one you have. Personally I LOVE the N8. All none N8 owners who dont plan on buying one, that's fine. Go spend time learning to use your wave, iphone or android. You might learn a thing or two on your own blogs and forum.Have fun doing so.

I acquired my N8 a week ago and it works just fine! It's the best Nokia I've ever had and I've been a Nokia user for 6 years, always having a better phone than before, N8 is not the exception, I'm sure when N9 arrives with MeeGo it will surely surpass N8. When that time comes it means it's time to buy a new Nokia! I'm totally a Nokia fan, BUT, the Ovi Store is really limited, there should be more apps for Symbiam^3 and for MeeGo (in the future). I think sooner or later we well have WLM and GTalk for N8.

ive bought an n8 just two days before and it rocks man ...and i too used adroid mobiles it is good oly but for nokia platform users and mor apps needers, go for n8 tats the affordable price u can get...n8 rocks............
