when N8 promo came out from nokia over youtube
i was so excited that nokia brought something adorable
and all previews of n8 were pretty impressive
then i thought it could be a good one for everything

what i want is good touchscreen, multimedia and good camera phone

first of all touch screen is far good than those resistive nokia screens b4 but not really as good as other competative phones becuz of lag.

music quality is very good and same for video
but processor is pretty outdated one same was used in iphone 3gs i think.
good multimedia phone needs multitasking which is there on N8 but where is RAM ? (memory)
      games are laggy some places.

      and NO GYRO ?

then i saw iphone 4 which was also good to look
      but antenna issues + glassgate.

finally samsung galaxy was really good even though its camera maynot be like n8.

i dont know why nokia dont change symbian.
even cost of apps are high on ovi store OMG compared to apple's appstore and android marketplace

angry birds on apple app store is 1 dollar while on ovi store is 2 EUROS !!

even many apps like soundhound etc etc

      bye bye nokia forever

Abhishek Chaterjee, 18 Dec 2010 It's not that Nokia thinks Indians are dumb people; let's... moredont think or say like that .. I think you are also indian then try to improve india.. India is a highly dynamic country it has many rich to many poor people many religion and caste many languages and many dumb to many intelligent people... Dont say stupid thing about your own origin country... Try to improve it and dont tease others misfortunes ...

                GPS lock is 2-5 secs
                UI is smoother
                orientation is quicker

HOLY man i'm busting a nut over this small update

i love what nokia is doing with these micro updates for their applications

Hi, the n8 is really not worth the money. I bought one on sept 12th, the day it released in india. 10 days later the phone hang when i used the slide unlock. Nokia replaced the phone 2 weeks later, that phone wouldn't even come on. Then 15 days later, they again replaced it with a phone which wouldn't read any sim card. In the end i asked for my money back and am determined to never make the mistake of buying a high end nokia phone again

the real thing n8 is a problem phone.. it wont last more than 6months. dont be fooled by nokia's marketing strategy. they've spend alot promoting the phone but then their laying off 2000 workers. most of them in the symbian group, see symbian is a mess..

Anonymous, 18 Dec 2010OMG, the N8 is number 2 now on the list! And there are at l... moreI don't agree with the face "The best smart phone out there". Speaking honestly, there are no the Best, No i phone, no Droids, neither the Nokia. "The best" comes upon the user, For me N8 is "the best" for some one else iPhone could or a droid. Every manufacturer knows, and they are not on the path to produce "the best" they try to cater deferent kinds of users and they succeed in their own way.

But we need to think of an important fact, the definition for smart phone is changed. Now what you look for is a social phone, Symbian initiated the concept, but Android and iOS elevated it to biggest height and WP7 took it to an entirely new level. Symbian needs a lot of catch-up in socializing the OS.

For an example, HTC sence can bring all your social contacts to your phone in a breeze and link all the contacts together. Note it links not merge. SO it provide a better experience in getting touch with your contact. Symbian^3 has it, But its a deferent story, you have to manually link your FB contact with a phone contact and you can only search from one server, google, live or yahoo at a time. when you set upo an exchange connection it just merge the contacts and make it a mess.

I may need to tell about me here,I'm a Symbian user from 6600, I used WinMo for 6 months, Came back to Series 40 and went to android froyo with HTC sense from Symbian^1 but came back to symbian^3 within two months, soon after finding android is not my ship. Since i have tryied many OS and many phones i know the pros and cons of deferent platforms. The OS, phone and everything depends on the person.

For me Nokia N8 provides me what i missed in HTC desire. Currently N8 is the best for me, but its not the best of all phones. I have several issues with it, but it does all the jobs i require in one step or several steps were a lot of which were a no go in desire even with 1000 of steps.

OMG, the N8 is number 2 now on the list! And there are at least 148,000 plus who voted. What does this mean? Even if it's not number one and even if it's not on the list, the fact that there are these number of votes for/against it, it means it's THE most sought after smartphone! And the truth always comes out - it's the best smartphone out there.

Ya android is the latest baby in mobile operating system, but Symbian is a grown adult at least 5 years older than Android. Ya, I'm sure that Symbian will be alive powering more and more devices even after 5 years.
