Something is bugging me here. The vote results here clearly show that n8 has 8.5 score (supportes + haters votes, mostly haters) in all aspects, and yet the n8 is not on the top 10 highest voting list (in the list there are some phones which scored less than 8.5)??? Could gsmarena pls explain.

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2010"Why can't I just connect to the phone as a massdrive ... moreNo doubt that the iphone does things differently than any other phones (but usually iphone takes the harder way).

In my country, bluetooth is the winner for file transfer between phones, hands down. Wifi and 3g might be faster, but there are some places where there is no wifi at all and 3g data cost can be quite costly in some countries.

Whats more, most of my friends just create email accounts so that they can sign up for facebook :D. After that, they wouldn't even log in to their email anymore.

So there you have it, iphone may do things differently, but it is not always the best way

Sails, 20 Nov 2010Sure, use an app if you have an mp3 and want a clip of that... more"What about some nice sports app that tracks the route in the background and keeps statistics etc?"

I used runtastic PRO for that and it worked flawlessly on background, surprise surprise :)

This was again very good example that you think it can't do that without proper multitasking.

What if you don't need a clip? What if the mp3 is already a clipped? Are you seriously telling me "It is easy since there is an app out there that can do it!" ??

I'll summarize few key points, but I'm not going to argue anything more the multitasking. I'm pretty sure you will understand the difference one day. I'm sure that eventually there will even be proper multitasking on some iPhone 8G and then when Steve will explain how great it is, there will be enlightenment.

Here is few points to get you started:
-Programmers need to program it in = more work, half-assed implementations, bugs that can mess program or whole phone, no way of knowing if its implemented in this particular app etc.
-I still need that crappy task manager for apps that do implement background functions
-What if I don't want that particular game to reset in the background?
-no capability outside the ones that apple has thought of. What about some nice sports app that tracks the route in the background and keeps statistics etc?

i sended my files over very fast wifi which is much faster than bluetooth :D but surprise you dont know that, you just saying things but dont know there's lot of ways to handle things differently.

That was big thing about iPhone you think you cant do some things, but actually you can, you just did them dfifferently. I noticed that when i had iphone.

some like some not, i was sceptic and when i had to chance use it, it works fantastic, now i dont have multitasking :)

Needing something like iTunes and a special cable is just to get the files on the phone is just absurd. Why can't I just connect to the phone as a massdrive or send the files over bluetooth.

I'm sure the next version of Windows will come with a multitasking like iPhone, its just so much easier and better ;) I agree that its probably easier for the grandmas etc. though that can't really get the concept of multitasking anyway.

Oh and I wouldn't like closing programs on iPhone either since the "task manager" is one more total fail...

Does the N8 have an alarm clock and reminders? I am looking to buy a new phone and have come to rely on my current phone (Nokia 6330 express)for its alarm.

-even setting mp3 as ringtone is a pain"

Actually that ringtone thing is VERY easy nowdays, with itunes new file sharing option. When you had used iphone last time?

Yesterday i went my friend place and he has bought iphone4 and i changed hi's ringtone, very easy thing with new apps from appstore which can cut your musics in your library only with your phone.

That whole task took me about 1 min.

More sad i'm with my WP7 i cant put any my own ringtones to it, hope the update coming soon.

And if you called iphone multitasking joke i called it very easy to use. i never liked the real multitasking that much "closing apps all the time" when i had my iphone i havent' had that problem. And still i did same things which before with real multitasking.

I think almost only people who don't like iphone multitasking are users who havent really owned iphone.

Of course it cant do all very complex heavy multitasking, but i think for average user that kind of multitasking is much better than usual close this and this app to keep your phone smooth and usable.

I hope wp7 is getting samekind multitasking and i think it will. Hope sooner than later :)

TOM, 20 Nov 2010I have N8 and Im not Nokia hater as I bought it 3 weeks ago... moreLike what? You have most of the useful features that are not available in the rival phone at a lower cost (50% less than iphone and 30% less than Samsung galaxy S). In N8, you have the Mail for Exchange, USB to go, free GPS navigation for life, the best phone camera to date, a lot of free apps, an HDMI connection, very manageable programs unlike iphone jail, a tough built body and an excellent multitasking. If you only want playing on your phone, why don't you go for a toy like iphone4 or maybe PSP.

You can't get that features on any Iphone at same price maybe in Samsung, here in UAE, Pixon12, Wave, Galaxy's price are going down due to the threat of N8.

For N900 users, there is buzz that Nokia is releasing a new firmware for N900 that will enable it to dual boot (MeeGo & Maemo). If it happens, it is very possible also to that on N8.
